Although I might add, saying that he coached them to 40-0 premiers is giving him too much credit, in my opinion. Melbourne were the better team that year, they were easily the minor premiers, and were the favourites to win the game. Manly's 40-0 victory should be credited to the players' collective heart, more so than the coach.

Mmm, interesting game last night.
+1 for the punch-up at the final whistle!
Maroons had possession and territory, I would go as far to say they out-classed NSW.
Though I remember a commentator saying once: "You can dissect the game all you want, but at the end of the day, points on the board is what matters".

Yeah, ref was man of the match. Honestly, the way NSW played, they'll win in Sydney. Most of the Dragons players weren't as outstanding as you'd hope them to be, but Dugan played well, Jennings had a blinder and Pierce played pretty well as well. The set of 6 leading up to Qld's match-winning try was one of the worst defensive sets I've ever seen though, absolutely atrocious.
EnigmaPunch, where are you from? I've never seen you post in this thread before.

The Blues had their moments, but the Maroons just had too much offense in the last 5 minutes. Gasnier's fumble playing the ball right at the end pretty much summed up the entire Blues side - they didn't have enough in the tank.
Spells a good second game though.

Manly, Dogs, Newwie, NQ, Melbourne, StG, Penriff.
This is all before I've seen who's named in what team

Yeah I'm waiting to see who's there and who's not. I was amazed how much the Dogs missed Ennis last week.
Tipping both of the away teams in the double-header at Brisbane... interesting.
EDIT:
So you're Australian, EnigmaPunch?

My team aren't doing too much better at the moment. :( In their defence though, they've played all of the premiership heavyweights, their only loss to a bottom-dwelling team was because their hooker was called up for State of Origin and the replacement had no first grade experience. Maybe as they play more low-placed teams, they will start climbing back up the ladder.
I can't believe how high the scores always are in English Super League, you guys must have pretty shocking defence over there...

I just noticed that England are trying to put together an origin type game. English v Imports. That would be a good game to watch

The Exiles have been installed as early odds-on favourites to win the International Origin Match against England at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Friday June 10 by the RFL’s official betting partner, William Hill.

Sea Eagles, Bulldogs, Knights, Cowboys, Storm, Dragons, Rabbitohs. I can't believe Brisbane is resting their Origin stars, I can only assume theirs some kind of method to their madness. The Exiles have been installed as early odds-on favourites to win the International Origin Match against England at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Friday June 10 by the RFL’s official betting partner, William Hill.
I'll be in Melbourne when it's on.
