For some reason,
www.footytips.com.au
won't let me pick a 17th player for my fantasy team, or let me save it. :/
EDIT: 3000th post

F*ck Manly. Tight game between Dogs and Rabbits this arvo, but we won, that's all that matters.
Oh, did I mention, f*ck Manly.

I'm too blind to care. The new Bulldogs halfback is awesome.

The one we bled for you?

I don't care where he came from. You guys were too dumb to give him a run.

You spent 700,000 on him. We didnt have that kind of money to keep a halfback with 1 year of experience. Specially when we have 2-3 great halfbacks in our ranks

Sharks beat the dragons. Who woulda thunk?
4/8 for me again this week, correctly tipped Bulldogs, Melbourne, Tigers and Knights.

Warriors are see-sawing again.

I've got a model for tipping that I built some time ago. I'm going to need to dig it out and see if it works this year.

I don't think there is any formula for the first few rounds. People are still rusty coming off the off-season and you get turnarounds like Canberra, Penrith and Cronulla.

True, but I think I've seen a formula in the past that uses last year's form guides as an indication. It's not perfect, for sure, but it generated better results than blind/expert-tipping. Of course, that assumes that the teams don't change around *too* much between seasons.

well seeing as lots of teams have had major changes in the halves, you're out of luck

I'm assuming from about Round 6 onwards you could go on the current season's form fairly accurately.
EDIT:
Warriors are see-sawing again.
Lost both games bro?

Tips for this week:
Eels, Broncos, Panthers, Tigers, Dragons, Bulldogs, Knights, Storm.
A little iffy on the Knights, Manly are hot favourites, and Brett Stewart's first game back at Brookvale will give them a lift. But the Knights have looked great so far this season, especially Jarrod Mullen.

Props to you for tipping the Eels even after they lost to the Bunnies tonight. Integrity, indeed.
My tips would've been / are:
Eels, Broncos, Sharks, Tigers, Dragons, Bulldogs, Sea Eagles, Storm.
Knights aren't what they used to be a decade ago. I remember driving through Newcastle (for other reasons) on the same day that the Knights' bus came steamrolling into town after winning the premiership in 2001. They're just not the same team anymore.

Yeah. Andrew Johns isn't there.
I know the whole one-man team thing gets thrown around a lot, but he really did create a winning culture at the club that lifted the players around him. Look at some of the players that played out of their skin when he was there and have since left and are doing nothing (John Morris for example).
Also, my tips were in at midday :P
1/2 so far.
