Johns is possibly the greatest player of all time
Best I've seen. And by a considerable margin too. He's a certifiable tool though. Just ask any Novocastrian.

What is your experience with Andrew Johns being a tool?

Haha. Thinks he owns Newcastle.

First player suspended: Todd Carney
Knights and Bulldogs: Will finish around 4th or 5th this year
Biggest unimprovers: Manly, St George
Benji: Don't care
I'm interested to see what team Des is going to field for Round 1. He's been trying to get rid of Ben Barba, which I find disappointing. Surely Des is a good enough coach that he can see Barba's strengths (he was in the 21-man Qld Origin squad in 2011, after all) and help him work on his weaknesses. He's still running Kris Keating and Johnathan Wright, both of whom suck. He's running Joel Romelo at hooker and resting Ennis, so hopefully come Round 1 he'll have Romelo in number 6 and Keating playing Toyota Cup.

Oh, this is important too:
* NOTICE *
We're 3 days away from UNFORTUNATELY seeing the return of the AFL. Some f**ked up pre-season tournament is starting on Friday, so that means AFL bogans will finally be coming out of their homeless shelter to watch the footy.
To prepare yourself for this catastrophe, do the following:
1. Lock up your teenage daughter(s).
2. Hide all types of drugs away before the West Coast Eagles players get to them.
3. Don't hang around pubs when Brendan Fevola is in town.
4. Hold on to your wallets while near Collingwood supporters.
5. Avoid 80 year old toothless old ladies with player badges on their scarves and jackets, they would mainly be either Crows, Geelong or St Kilda female supporters who make up the crowds at every home game.
6. If you see a Sydney Swans, Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns or GWS (Greater Waste of Space) supporter, grab a baseball bat and bash them wannabe Victards at all costs.
7. Avoid being on the streets after an AFL game in the city, you may end up in a bogan-fest parade full of drunken homosexuals and perverted old naggy women.
8. If you see a Richmond supporter whinging about an umpire, put in ear-plugs and walk away.
9. If you see an AFL player at a party, call the cops immediately.
10. If you hear "BAWWWWL" chant echoed around you, you know you're near a gAyFL stadium. Walk away from it.
11. If your mate offers you a ticket to an AFL game, reject it & never speak to him/her again.
AND RULE NUMBER 12:
Keep up the trolling on facebook you anti-AFL legends!

Heh, GWS have something like 4000 members at the moment, and this includes members in Canberra where they are going to play a couple of home games every year. There won't be any rivalry for a long time.

'Home' games in Canberra, heh.
Based on recent history, I actually think the Knights are likely to make the finals, or at least the semis, unless they get torn apart by money. Or, as the case may possibly be, if Tinkler runs out of cash because the NSW Government keeps rejecting his business proposals.
Donny - how's your new local team prepping? It's gonna be a lonely time up in Brisbane...

Honestly I haven't taken much notice of league lately, or TV in general. Life is a bit too topsy-turvy for that at the moment, but things will settle down once my brother and I get a house. So I have no idea what the Broncos are up to. I'll buy a membership just before the season starts if I have any money between buying 2 new lenses for my camera, Formula 1 tickets, Soundwave Festival and a skydiving course.
@ Enigma, as far as I know (which is not very far, admittedly), "Gone Within Seconds" are based at Blacktown, so they are closer to Parramatta than anywhere else.

F1, it's making all the hotels in Melb double their prices in the week before. And worst thing is, I'm flying back to Sydney on the Friday arvo. Grr...
By the way, if you're around at the time, I might be up in Brisbane in the week after Easter.

Yeah apart from the F1 and a possible trip to Cairns, I'll not be leaving Brisbane much for quite a while.
And yeah, I'm taking a tent. Screw paying the exorbitant prices they are asking.

The Eels have an awesome fan base. An extremely faithful lot, from the small sample that I know of them.
As for the Knights, that's exactly my point.
