You need to remove the idea from your head that the Dragons are a good team.

I've now climbed to second. First is still 3 points clear of me.

Fair few weeks to catch up, 3 points isn't much.

Yeah, still plenty of time to win or lose it.

Any place worth checking out in Brisbane this week, Donny? Going to be in town for a couple of nights.

How do you mean? As in something to do? Or somewhere to eat?

Either or - if I've got too much work to do, chances are that I'll probably just grab something to eat in the area then head back to the hotel to work, unless there's something particularly good to do in the CBD area?

As far as I know, there's nothing special on. The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race was on Good Friday, so I'm sure that'll be the last exciting thing on in Brisbane until ANZAC Day. It's not like Sydney where there's something on every day. You've been here so surely you've seen how dead the CBD gets on Sunday - Wednesday nights.
In terms of eating... I've never really eaten out much in Brisbane, and never at all in the CBD. There's some nice places in the Valley but you usually have to contend with drunks. Park Road in Milton also has some great places to eat.

Yeah, CBD is pretty quiet generally. Not as bad as Perth, mind you, but close.
Was tempted to head up to Fortitude Valley, but wasn't sure if it was worth heading to. It's basically the Chinatown of Brisbane, isn't it?

Yes and no. There's a pretty pathetic Chinatown mall there on Duncan Street. Next street over is the Brunswick St Mall, wihch is home to various nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and also a fair few homeless people (mostly Aboriginal).
Heading southeast along Brunswick St out of the mall, cross Ann Street and there are a few more nice restaurants (including Harajuku Gyoza, the Japanese restaurant I mentioned in your restaurant thread), some really nice boutique retail stores, and a couple of nice art galleries. Turning left down Ann Street, there's some more boutique retailers, The Beat (Australia's largest and longest-running gay club), and there's also a strip club. The further southeast you travel along Brunswick St, the more palatable (and upmarket) it becomes.
Heading northwest along Brunswick St out of the mall, cross Wickham St to find some more pubs, 2 or 3 more strip clubs, and more people of lower socio-economic backgrounds milling around the train station. The train station itself is set inside a pretty uninspiring shopping centre, with a Subway, chemist, Foodworks supermarket. Turning right down Wickham St will lead you to another gay establishment - in this case a pub called The Wickham (imaginative, right?)
So basically, Fortitude valley is Brisbane's Chinatown, Kings Cross and Oxford St all rolled into one.

It's okay Izzy, just take their money and run.

Yeah, I was thinking about that gyoza restaurant. Just thinking whether it was good enough to trek up to the Valley for, heh.
And lol.

Depending on your preferred method of transport, it's a 10-15 minute walk from the CBD, or 1 stop from Central and then a 3 minute walk.

Hm, 15 mins isn't too bad, I suppose, done worse in Melbourne.

I walk everywhere. One of the by-products of losing your licence for extended periods of time.
