Tinkler's pulling out because of what happened on the Gold Coast. But let's face it, even soccer fans don't take Australian soccer tournaments seriously. Every soccer fan I know supports Man U, Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Not true - plenty of Liverpool and Arsenal fans roaming around as well.
And Donny - it took me 10 minutes just to walk down to the end of Ann St from Central Station. Is your dumpling place really only 5 minutes further up?

Once you reach the corner of Ann and Brunswick, you just turn right and it's only 2 blocks up. I guess it depends on your walking speed though. Perhaps you're better off jumping off at Fortitude Valley station, the only thing is then you have to survive the Brunswick St Mall.
Here's a map if it helps.

Hmm, I must walk slower than you. I gave up walking around the corner of Ann and Boundary. For some reason, I thought Ann St ended over there, oops.
I'll see if I can wrap up my last meetings tomorrow early and go for a wander.

Ann goes for several more kilometres after that, ending at the border between Fortitude Valley and Newstead. The layout is somewhat confusing around Boundary though.
As mentioned, there are some nice restaurants all along Brunswick St, and also James St (next street to the northeast - parallel to Brunswick).
Park Road in Milton also has a few places. I haven't eaten at many of them because I just generally don't eat out much, I just know they exist because they are all Bartercard members. Most of them get good reviews. Park Road is pretty easy to get to. You can walk from Roma St, or catch a train to Milton where you simply walk out of the station and turn left.

I
almost
picked the Bulldogs; then I realised I was basing the decision on the Gambler's Fallacy and thought better of it.

Tipping the Roosters to knock off the Cowboys? Interesting choice... Could pay off, the Roosters have been winning a few and the Cowboys haven't been as good as I'd expected them to.

Worth a shot, can't hurt to take a slight gamble every now and then.

For sure...
Did you head down to the Valley today?

Nah, meeting finished late on the wrong side of the CBD. Ended up going to Vapiano in Albert Lane - was really packed tonight, busier than I've ever seen the place, actually.

Had no idea there was a Vapiano in Brisbane... Thought there was only the one in Surfers. Just shows how much notice I take.

What an amazing game... Not too bothered about the result, I'm just stoked to have witnessed such a brilliant battle.
