Play until there's a winner is my preference. NRL doesn't open itself up for things like penalty shoot-outs in the same way that Soccer does (not to mention that scoring occurs much more frequently). The Rugby World Cup tie rules are probably decent, and you're very unlikely to end up in a free-kick shoot-out all things considered.

I've never thought much of Golden Point either to be honest, and I agree that it stops being a rugby league game after the 80 minute siren. Field goal battles are boring, union-esque rubbish (I despise union).
I actually liked the old system where the game was extended for 20 minutes and whoever had the highest score after that was the winner. It made for exciting football as teams were generally exhausted by that stage so there were plenty of points scored. Either that or Golden Try would be an improvement on Golden Point.
Ideally, I think regular season games should finish at 80 minutes. Finals games should be an extra 20 minutes of normal rugby league followed by an unlimited period of Golden Try.

That was the best Origin series I have ever watched - except for the result.

NSW have a great side with a superior forward pack to Qld and a backline which falls short of Qld's star-studded backline but still oozes class and ability. Josh Morris in particular - I thought he was the best player from either side in the series.
There are, however, 2 players from the side who I don't think pulled their weight this series and shouldn't be there next year.
1. Brett Stewart. His attack was nonexistent and his kick returns were pitiful. I'd bring Nathan Merritt onto the wing and move Jarryd Hayne to fullback.
Hayne has a huge boot which can be a clutch when NSW need field position. I enjoy the strategic aspect of the game more than anything else, and believe that most good tries are built from around 4-5 sets in attack and defence. I often see that when Qld turn from a period of struggle to a period where they dominate for 10-20 minutes, it is kickstarted by a massive kick from Cameron Smith. NSW have this same weapon in their arsenal, however they do not get a chance to use it often as they put Hayne on the wing.
Nathan Merritt is a proven tryscorer and has the two golden tryscorer traits - brilliant supporting play and blinding speed. Like Billy Slater and Ben Barba, he can attack from anywhere on the field. The other major advantage of selecting him is that he can play both wing and fullback very well. This is important because Hayne's attack is less potent at fullback than it is on the wing. With Merritt in the side, NSW can play him at fullback when they are in a period with good field position and dominance, and then swap Hayne to fullback during struggle periods so he has a greater chance to boot a big kick and turn the momentum.
2. Mitchell Pearce. He is a useless hack. $%^& him off. That is all.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, Stewart was extremely safe at fullback. Plus Hayne is amazing on the wing.
Agree on halfback

But, Nathan Merritt!
Don't get me wrong, I was happy with Stewart's selection at the start of the series, and he will be a
safe
player to pick again. I basically see it as a choice between "safe" and "x-factor". Hayne is amazing on the wing, but as I said, he can always switcharoo with Merritt when his attack is needed.
