Ehem.Having been hacked recently guess I'm a bit gun shy.No, you haven't been hacked. People don't get hacked on WoW.
Now, about your question:WoW is already on my trusted list so still trying to figure a way around it. But am wondering, after years of unquestioning acceptance, what is in this particular patch that has caused Norton to rear its ugly head?Assuming you downloaded the patch from a trusted source (pretty much only the official website), this is called a false positive. Happens sometimes, and Norton products are the unmatched kings of false positives.
Deactivate the product for the duration of the patching process. I recommend not doing anything risky while it is deactivated and running a full system scan beforehand.
Also, uninstall Norton and get a better product.
