Mmm, I missed the humour in it, to be entirely honest.
You didn't have to spend 8 years under Bush :P

Shame on you then :P
(Well, not you specifically, since you were underage at the time. But the point still stands :P)

I just wish I could have registared in NY at least once to vote
for this guy
Listen! Paladins are not stacking hit, or expertise! DID YOU HEAR IT? They are missing interrupts left and right! Why? Thats right, you said it.
The threat is too damn high!

So,
need feedback
. I'm gearing up for tanking, and this is all the gear I can get through rep so far.
Can anyone suggest a good tanking weapon I can nab, among other things? There's bracers I can get from Ramkahen once I hit exalted (which is what I'm currently working on) and boots from the Wildhammer Clan (which I am doing dailies for).
So does anyone have any dungeon drops they could suggest for me? I was browsing the stickies, but I couldn't find any gear lists.

@ Funden
There is a 333 Mace that you can get from a quest in Twilight Highlands. That makes a good starter Tank Weapon. Grim B. and Stonecore also have Tank weapons that drop. Believe its last boss in both.
Stonecore also has a Stam Trinket, and a Relic that drop for tanks. Grim B. has Shoulders, and Rings that I can remember off hand.
Your Helm is also a Rep Item for Wildhammer. You could also get the Epic Belt from Hyjal and reforge the Crit to tanking stats. There is also a quest reward thats 318 that is in Ramkahen that are nice to use.
But thats all that I can see.

Is it the Crucible/Amphitheater one? If it is, I already got the 2h sword.
Ty for the list though.

Hmm
Dragonscorn Mace
There is also a nice 333 tank shield from the Starter quest that takes you to Twilight Highlands. But there is also holy gear also from the same quest.

/shrug. I really didn't want to make a new thread and have some people come in and tell me "l2sticky brah." I like the crowd in here, so I posted a quick link. Apologies if you didn't want it.

Nah this is the thread for regulars to discuss whatever they damn well please. It just seems like the thread to talk about random junk because most of us (or at least I) make it our (my) goal to derail a thread into absurdity as fast as possible most of the time.

Shoot, I already did that one >.>
As for the tank shield, I might actually have that in my bags instead of the one I have int he profile. I just remember getting one with that model. I'll check tomorrow.

I'll try to start working on starting gear sets for my guide.
I have
this one
made up. I might need to look it over again. But its a pretty good pre-raid set. You might be able to find the normal versions of the items and go from there.

My family wants to make an attempt on ICC sometime soon. With all 4 of us -_-;;
Granted, we're at 85, so it may be a bit easier, noting that we don't have a DK to just solo the place and cheer on.
We've got:
1 Priest (one bro)
1 Pally (sis-in-law)
1 Mage (me, on this particular server, my Pally is on my other server)
Choice of Priest / Pally / Warrior (other bro), but the Warrior is the best geared at present.
It wouldn't be so bad, except that my bro (1) and sis-in-law aren't the best when it comes to PvE raiding and situational awareness / reaction. Bro (2) is an ex-raider, which means he'll probably be better at boss control.
At the moment, we're thinking:
Warrior tanks as Arms (for more DPS, so we don't have any chance of hitting enrages). Might be necessary to switch to Prot for some fights, but we'll see when we get there.
Pally is our primary healer. Health pools at 85, especially with 30% ICC buff should be more than sufficient for her to be very reactive with Holy Light spamming.
Priest is a secondary healer. Currently tossing up between spec'ing Disc and Smite-healing for extra DPS, or spec'ing Shadow, dotting and throwing extra heals as and when necessary.
Mage... can't be anything but DPS. I've got enough threat management tools to stay under the Warrior's threat generally, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Our theory is that our Pally can't tank, because she's not skilled enough to a) know what to do when; and b) pull off the TPS that we'd need not to overtake her. Our biggest concern is healer mana pools, followed by DPS enrage timers.
What do you guys think?

10 man normals should be fine with 4 people
Have the warrior go full prot with tank gear, no reason to waste the mana on the heals from the crits he will take as arms. Have the priest go smite spec for some bosses where you'll need the extra healing, with a shadow spec where DPS will be needed for adds and burns. You can play your mage, and the Paladin will heal everyone fine with beacon on the tank, and spot heals on the group. If you find a friend to add just a little more DPS you guys will be in and out in a little under 4 hours. Not sure if you'll be able to kill Sindy and Lich King in a 5 man group tho. It would require some skill to be sure.
To be sure, you'll need to trick a couple of fights to help with some of the mechanics, but all in all I think its possible.

I really don't see Blood Queen happening for obvious reasons.
I also would recommend the warrior go prot. He's still going to get mauled on bosses with Cleaves or adds, such as marrowgar.

Yeah, I agree with the points about Prot vs Arms. I actually forgot about the extra crits (/shame) - that's a very good point. The only concern is losing 10k+ DPS by swapping, and not being able to make it up with the Shadow Priest - no disrespect to my bro and sis-in-law, but they're not at raiding standard. We'll be trick'sing it all just by having them with us :P
To be honest, I'll be glad if we can hit Saurfang, let alone any of the others.

Saurfang would be so fun in a 5 man group! Have the paladin healer taunt and heal with rightous fury on, have her take some of the hits so he doesn't heal as heavy. Rarrrr, this reminds me of 5 maning 10 man naxx! So fun!

I agree that it'd be fun, if I could rely on more than half my team to coordinate and move properly ;)
