Just because I still can't get over this, I'm reposting this from the druid OT thread.
So I'm moving in about a month, and I was looking at getting a car. Then I get this:
Your Insurance Quote: $604* per month / $7254* per year
I love being male under 25 years old. Oh, and that's before taxes.

At least you didn't get something along the lines of the following:
We're sorry to inform you that you are unable to obtain insurance on your choice of vehicle.
A friend of mine, male under 25 years old, tried to get a WRX STI insured, living in a dodgy part of town. Insurance company wouldn't touch it.

I doubt they'd insure me on one either, regardless of where I lived. The vehicle in question I'm looking at is a '93 Ford Tempo.

Ok, that's pretty rude. Does that even *cost* $7k?
I remember my first car, for comprehensive insurance (i.e. first party insurance), the car cost me $5k, and they wanted to charge me $3k. That was *after* a 60% no claims bonus under my Dad's name.

The car's worth
maybe
$2k. The quote I got is for liability insurance only. No collision or anything else.

When I was still living at home there was literally not one provider in Great Britain who would insure me on a Mini Cooper S. In hindsight, since I never passed my test, they were probably on to something, though.

Ouch...
Insurance for US Males under 25 is way to high. And when you ask them why there is so much of a differance between Male and Female prices they say its because males are more likely to race. Yea they don't know some of the female in the south that well. Specially if there in a full size truck.

Young males are statistically awful drivers. The premiums they charge are frankly warranted.
But there are devices now that you can put in your car that prove after six months to a year of driving that you are not the gigantic, drooling
moron
that the rest of your demographic is, and that can (among companies that recognize the devices) drive premiums down a great deal.

What sort of excess do you guys need to pay on claims?

? I have no idea want your asking here.
By Excess do you mean the difference between want males pay to females?
Or are you talking about the deductable (sp)?

The minimum amount that you need to pay on a claim, with the insurance company paying any amount greater.
For example, I get into a crash and the bill comes out to $10,000.
My excess is $1,500, being the amount I need to pay. The insurance company pays the remaining $8,500.

Ya we call it the Deductible
Deductible:
In an insurance policy, the deductible (also known as 'excess' in some countries, especially the United Kingdom) is the portion of any claim that is not covered by the insurance provider.

Deductible really makes more sense if you think about it. Since the 'excess' is anything over the stated, constant amount.

Hat: I am still yawning.
Hmm, when I'm not sleep deprived this looks like it needs context.
Hat and I did one of those RealID randoms last night. There's a guy in his guild that has a tone of voice all the time that the rest of us use when we're talking around a yawn. He was doing that contagious yawn thing to me over vent just by talking in his normal tone of voice. So that is why I said this!

*ponders the need for a raid tactics thread*
Anyway, last night was a rough night against Ryolyth. The basic tactic was I turn on Righteous Fury to help draw spawning adds to me just by constant heal agro. The basic problem is with DK and Prot Paladins tanking they can quickly pull stuff off of me as soon as they are attracted to me but with a Prot Warrior it seems to be very hard. Having fragments constantly hit me delays channeling heals. Having the spark stick to me is a deadly problem. Is there something weird with the way Prot Warriors work where it is difficult for them to handle this kind of situation? Although I could toggle Righteous Fury on/off that doesn't solve the fundamental problem.
