Top 5 movies I've seen
5)
Ghostbusters 2
: Though it wasn't as funny as the first, it was still good, the Ghostbusters came, saw and kicked arse of a painting of a 17th century Carpathian tyrant named Vigo bent on returning and taking over the world using Dana's child, Oscar. I loved the Ghostbuster movies in general, the comedy relief is well wanted.
4)
Star Wars V, Empire Strikes Back
: I loved Star Wars since I first saw
A New Hope
, this movie was better with the addition of Yoda and a lot of battle scenes, by far the best in the series next to
Return of the Jedi
.
3)
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
: The last of the
Lord of the Rings
series, the best one by far. Since
Fellowship of the Ring
I've been a fan of the movies and since
The Hobbit
, the books. Pippin's song in Steward of Gondor was well used in timing.
2)
Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie
: Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (Better known as
MST3K) shows were a new version of Statler and Waldorf. Heckling movies given to them by the boss of Gizmonic Institute or the evil Pearl, they are forced to watch terrible movies aboard the S.O.L (Satalite of Love). The combonation of Crow, Mike/Joal, and Tom Servo make a comedy group that tops even the best. Main reason I like that movie, comedic relief.
1)
Ghostbusters
: The first movie and by far the funniest, the Ghostbusters: Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) fight off Zuul the Gatekeeper, Vinz Clortho the Keymaster, and Gozer the Gozerian as well as other paranormal spooks including Slimer and the Gray Lady. With memorable lines such as Venkman's statement: "So, somebody blows their nose and you wanna keep it?" and the explanation of Old Testiment disasters. The most memoral villain ever: THE STAY PUFT MARSHMELLOW MAN!
Edit: The Old tesitment explanation:
Dr. Peter Venkman: Or you can accept the fact that this city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?
Dr. Raymond Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor– real wrath-of-God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
Winston Zeddmore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Just watched
X-Men: First Class
. It was incredible, and easily the best X-Men film I've seen, potentially the best superhero type film too. There were a lot of continuity problems, but I prefer the continuity from
First Class
.
However, a couple of minor things did piss me off.
a)
Black Dude Dies First
played
absolutely straight
in terms of the mutants.
b) The ease at which Emma Frost's diamond form began to crack. My first thought was
fridge logic- as diamond is far more enduring and should theoretically have broken the metal first
. Then I thought actually,
Magneto was strengthening the metal, which is somewhat ductile
. But then I thought that
because of the density and toughness of diamond, Emma Frost should have at least been able to match the force Magneto was applying on her and the metal should have at least bent around her, if not been broken or forced back from her.
.
My head hurts.

Technically, Frost diamond form is suppose to be completely invulnerable: She's able to stand there and take a full force beam from Cyclops, as a comment between her and Ka'zar's lady: Darling, I can turn to diamond, I can see his eyes whenever I want to, says. But then it's no fun if she isn't in some danger.

Dude Magneto is a beast, he can drive metal into somones body with enough force to open a black hole, reverse the earths rotation, ect. He can also bend adamantium, something not even Thor, The Hulk, Thanos can do. Not to go all comic book police nerd there...

What happens if her diamond form shatters? When it cracks, and she shifts back to human form, her neck looks completely unharmed. I also loved her 80s(?) bouffant hair. T'was
fabulous
.
Edit: Ryjacork, that's all well and good, but as far as I'm aware, Frost is a beast as well and her powers seem to be almost limitless.

She's been cracked before, but the last time that happened, she held a piece of an unimaginable horror in her head. But she heals up fairly quickly. And yes, at the moment, Emma Frost is the most powerful psychic in the Marvel Universe...well, on Earth at least. And in her diamond form, she's decked people like the Juggernaut, Colossus, and others and sent them flying.

To be fair I havnt caught up on my Xmen all that much latley, so Im not as familiar with her characture as I am with others. But from what I know shes something like the third most powerful (living) telepath in the marvel universe. But her powers are limited by her telepathy and in that scene Xavier was blocking her.
As for the diamond form idk, I know that during the Hulks return to earth from Sakaar he was angry/strong enough to resist xaviers telepathy, smash black bolt and the juggernaut, and nearly break the planet and he
still
couldnt crack her diamond form (i think he wound up tossing her into another state or something), so its possible your right and Magneto wouldnt be able to do it, they tend to dial down peoples powers in the movies though so I always just try to keep in mind movies =/= cannon

And if she shatters does Emma die, or does it reform itself as the Human form?

I don't think I've read any of the comics; I'm just going on what I've got from the marvel wikia, my knowledge as a child, and partially the film; in which she seems to be Xavier's equal. The fact that she managed to house he Phoenix Force seems to be a testament to her powers, but again I'm not the most clued up with X Men.

I know that Wokverine has cut Collosus before and it just kinda sliced thorugh metal and into skin and such underneath. The Hulk crushed his hands and they said if he reverted to human form his hands would be mangled (i think somone fixed em into a normal shape with a blow tourch) so I just assume Emma frost would be the same thing, if the diamond cracks its like her skin being broken.

She's never been shattered so no one knows.

Ah, I'd have thought that would have been used maybe for one of her deaths or something, then 'justified' resurrections. As hardly anyone seems to get killed off for real in X Men, lol.

Oh, right. That might be different though, considering diamond is so much more resilient. I am
so
overthinking this.

She's one of the few who has never really died in the comics. She's seemed to die lots of times, but she always comes back heh. And she has had cracks on her before, but they vanish when she shifts back to flesh and blood; but in regards to holding that piece of the Void inside her: Had she changed back to flesh and blood from the Diamond, it would have been able to take her over so...yeah; when she goes diamond, there isn't a lot on the planet that can actually harm her. Frost is also a null when she is in diamond form and no one, not even the Phoenix can read her mind.

Yea but what I'm saying is thy while they are different materials their mutant powers work in a very similar way, so the effect on their bodies if one was damaged would probably be similar. Shes only ever had a few tiny cracks though, so that wouldn't have more than a few sctatches

Again though; she doesn't show any damage on her body when she cracks in diamond form.

Hmm, interesting about her not dying and seeming to have rapid healing from her diamond form. Does this also work on her human form? Obviously not to like, Wolverine levels, but you know.

I guess that's possible, yeah. And makes sense, after all they have a creative license of sorts with science. ;)

Actualy not to backtrack and contradict myself, but I think Magneto could crack her diamond form of he wanted to, I mean he can bend adamantium, which I believe is stronger than her diamond form. At first I thought it was only because it was it was metal, but he's the master magnetism not the master of metal, the fact that it's metal dosnt change the force that needs to be applied

Obviously not to like, Wolverine levels, but you know.Don't think so; if she knows a hit is coming, she'll transform quickly...but when she transforms, she loses out on her primary mutation: She can't read minds, bend wills, or talk in other people's heads.
And Magneto is hit by the stick a lot: In some comics he can manipulate the iron in the blood stream, while in others he labors to lift up simple tanker ships. But I don't think he could crack her diamond form either; he may be able to affect her personal magnet field, but since no other mutant power, from Cy's eye blasts, to Xavier's mind blasts, to the Phoenix force, has really hurt her once she went crystally, I doubt even Magnus could crack her open like a walnut.

But magnetism is the movement of electrical charge, and diamond has no charge (unless it has a permanent dipole, which if I recall correctly it does not).
