I don't think it can be better then the original.

That 'War House' movie that's coming out really bothers me for some reason....oh I know, it's because the Calvary units of World War I were nothing but meat for the grinder......so the boy and his horse story doesn't really much up too well.

We will be seeing it tonight. I'm not going in with high expectations, though.

Went to see Sherlock Holmes today. Extremely entertaining. Go go go.
I went in thinking it was going to be good... It wasn't.
It was excellent! One of the best movies I've seen all year! Excellent cinamotogrify, excellent scriptwork and acting, excellent plot! I can't wait for a third!
If there's going to be a third. It's kinda up in the air, with Holmes thought dead by most and Moriarty definately dead. It's sad to think that might be the end.
On another note: saw the most recent trailer for Batman 3. Can't wait for that either! While it is so sad it will be the last Batman Movie from Nolan, it at least looks like it will be going out on a bang. The Bane they're using seems to be holding true to the real characterization, and just appears to be a complete badass. Here's hoping they were lying to us and this wont be the last.

I really did not like the original Sherlock Holmes. As much as I love RDjr, his acting just didnt do it for me, not to mention the fact that I could barely understand a word he said. I heard good things about this one though, so maybe I will check it out.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is based on a book or older movie or something right? I know literaly nothing about it...

Yup. Wish they had waited longer honestly. Movie was in the back of my mind, and the trailer reminded me of its existence...
Damn.

I was so sad when I realized it's still a year off... Honestly, I'm betting they don't have much more material than what's in the trailer right now, lol. Sounds about right

Just picked up a bunch of blu rays for like 10$ each to go with my shiney new ps3, gotta love post Christmas shopping. I got Red, Fight Club, The Matrix, The Number 23, and Let Me In.
I'm also in full swing Tolkien mode for the Hobbit movie. I ordered the complete extended collection of LOTR on blu ray from Amazon, and am rereading the Hobbit.

Watched "The Gentleman's Agreement". In some cases it scanned like blatant propaganda, in others (when the protagonist refers to Bertrand Russell, or where the scientist refers to actual concerns of the Zionist movement at the time ) it was fantastic.
It's sad actually, I think on social issues cinema peaked a long time ago. "A Man For All Seasons", "In the Heat of the Night" and "Z", all filmed during the 1960s were all fantastic demonstrations of individuals opposing the prevailing culture. "Gentleman's Agreement" and "The Apartment" both dealt quite well with relationships, the previous one involving a single parent raising a child with the help of their mother and the latter involving serial adultery. The only comparable "fiction" movie that deals with a social issue is "Milk", which probably couldn't have been released before the 2000s, so that's evidence of progress. There are a bunch of documentaries I like too, the prime ones being "Manufacturing Consent" and "Norm Finkelstein: American Radical", which shows how important independent cinema is. The other two modern movies that'd make my top ten don't deal with social issues: "Magnolia" and "Hero".

Just watched "A Lost Weekend". I've never hallucinated while drinking. Got a new aspiration in life.
