I finaly got around to watching American Psycho. Frankly I wasnt impressed... I mean I get it was supposed to be more a social commentary than a splatter fest, and Christian Bale really is a great actor, and pulled off the roll of Patrick Bateman masterfully. But for the most part the movie was just kinda boring. Idk where people get off comparing this ti Fight Club...
Dont get me wrong, I thought it was an ok movie, but it didnt really live up to the hype for me, and it came nowhere close to living up to the supposed controversy.

Watched 'We Bought a Zoo' yesterday(girlfriend wanted to see a movie and that was about the only thing we could both agree on) and it's actually a really good piece of cinema...even with Matt Damon; could almost forget it was him for most of the movie.

I think Christian Bale really is a psycho. Either that, or his personality was subsumed to the role.
Anyone seen "We have a pope"?

I watched Fight Club, the 25th Hour, and American History X all in the past few days. My conclusion? Edward Norton is the greatest !@#$ing actor on the planet. Still pissed he wont be around to be Bruce Banner in The Avengers.
Got star wars bluray collection for christmas and man, forgot how awful episodes 1 and 2 are. It really saddens me to realize that again. They have some cool battle scenes that look great in hd, but the dialog is so painful.
Actually the entire star wars series seems kind of overrated lately. Not to say star wars is overrated, there's a ton of awesome books and video games that have better story lines and dialog. But other than the masterpiece that is Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi which is pretty good too, the rest are all pretty poorly written, rely too much on fantastic universe instead of character development and useful dialog. I thought the last hour of episode 3 was pretty good too, but getting to the point where Anakin is crossing to the dark side feels way too forced. So he's having some dreams about Padme dying and wants to save her so bad he just gives up everything he was ever taught? There's not enough struggle there to make it believable. And Natalie Portman is a good actress but is so limited by these scripts she comes off as a total bimbo.
Compare that to say the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Absolutely amazing movies. Everyone should watch the extended editions sometime, lots of scenes in there further developing the characters and giving more explanation of the environment. And it was cast beautifully. Don't think anyone other than Vigo could've been Aragon and Ian McClelen and the guy who plays Sarumon (name escapes me) is amazing too. Overall LOTR >>>> Star Wars.
I know what you mean, I havnt bought teh Star Wars blu ray collection yet, because I heard the reviews were dissapointing. Aparently Darth Vader has a pink lightsaber now O.o
It honestly baffles me that after all the negetive reviews, all teh trolling, the South Park parodies, the fact that it has practically become a meme at this point, George Lucas is
still
CHANGING HIS &*!@ING FILMS!
I wouldnt even be as pissed if we were at least offered the original versions, but seriously... And the only remastered movie in the set is the Phantom Menace. Oh and now we get all the Star Wars movies rerealesed in the next few years in 3D as if their not milking that gimic enough...
The Lord of the Rings blu ray set on the other hand is fantastic, I ordered that a few weeks ago and was very pleased with it. The movies themselves are crystal clear amazing quality, the box is beutifull and sits nice on my self, the cover art of the movies themselves are great.

Ugh, I have a bad feeling we're gonna see yet another re-release of the Star Wars movies on the big screen....only all of them will be in 3D this time around....

Me and my GF were going to see The Grey the other night and got to the mall late, so we wound up seeing Chronicle instead, and it was a very pleasent suprise. Good movie, only real problem with it was that the trailer gave away too much.

Im not even gonna give that a chance, George Lucas has bought enough crack with my money, thank you.

I actually saw "The Woman in Black" with my grandmom in the theatre in London, lol.
Was heaps sick, but now that I know most of the plot twists not sure I'd enjoy it in the cinema. Also, my cinema pal hates Daniel Radcliffe because he's the same age as us and my cinema buddy wants to have as much money as him :p.

Just watched Beyond Beats and Rhymes, absolutely fantastic documentary. Surpasses even some of the ones agreeing more with my views (like Food Inc).
I really wanna check out Five Sides of a Quarter next.

We watched
The Machinist
last night. It was really hard to follow at times, but it was definitely a psychological thriller.
I was also frightened on how skinny Christian Bale was in that movie. Holy $%^&. He weighed less than I do.

Just watched
The Prestige
(speaking of Bale), and it was good. I think. Maybe. I'm not sure. I think it was, but it may have been terrible. Hard to follow. Hard to understand stuff. Lots of magicish stuff going on, but yes, good movie.
I think.

Also, I've just realised that the last film(s) that I've seen at the cinema were Haywire (walked out after like 20 minutes) and W/E, which was bearable but poor. I need to see a few films that are out at the minute. >.> Like Woman in Black.

So, went to the movies on Valentine's Day, and watched Journey 2: The Mysterious Island....which really, wasn't that horrible heh; but definitely something you have to watch on the big screen since home 3D won't be as epic looking. And yes, the Rock is not only watchable, but he's hilarious, second reason to see the movie, first being Michael Caine as the grandfather. The rest of the cast of 5? Meh.
As for the trailers before hand: Meh to the Hobbit(sorry but just looks like more LotR to me), huge ass meh to Wrath of the Titans(looks even worse then Clash). I want to see the Lorax that actually looks pretty good. And can't remember what the fourth movie was heh.
