Honestly, I can only think of two remakes in the last decade that have been good....sadly though, Hollywood is burned out and can't think of new things anyways.
Edit: The two in question being the Rob Zombie versions of Halloween.
True Grit
Batman
Dawn of the Dead
War of the Worlds
Ocean's Eleven
Casino Royal
The Departed

As I've said, I dislike Nolan's movies(though those are reboots).
I prefer the original Dawn of the Dead to the new one.
I
hate
the Tome Cruise version of War of the Worlds; one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
I don't like the new Bond, so there you go.
Was never interested in the Ocean's series.
Meh to the Departed.

You don't think war of the worlds (new) is more "watchable" than war of the worlds (old)?

Pardon my french, but #$%^ no; at least the old one is cheesy as hell and good for the laugh. The new one is just a massive pile of pure grade A horse manure.

The Departed is genius, how can one dislike it?

I liked the sound effects. The kids were irritating, and Tom Cruise is a giant !@#$%^, but the background was pretty entertaining to look at, at least.
Hmmmm...
You're harder on movies than I am. Cool.

Easily lol; not my genre.

I r a movie snob.

I wouldn't say "The Departed" was a movie I "liked", but I will say that I was able to watch the entire thing. I only complete about 1/3 of movies I watch.

Though, for being a movie snob, I also like a large number of movies others say are massive stinkers and horrible, so it all balances out.

3:10 to Yuma and the Incredible Hulk were good too. Although the Hulk was more of a reboot than a remake.
As far as Dark Shadows goes, Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Tim Burton $%^&ing sucks. Ive always hated the stylized pseudo artsy goth crap he comes out with. Coraline and Sleepy Hollow were both ok, other than that I have universally hated everything hes done.
And the thing is I always go into his movies wanting, and even expecting to like them. But its just been this past year that Ive come to terms with just how much I hate him as a director. Its a shame such a brilliant actor like Johnny Depp so often lets himself be dragged down by Burtons garbage.
On the note of a good director, I just bought the blu ray of The Town earlier today. Ive said it before and Ill say it again, everything that ben Affleck lacks as an actor, he more than makes up for as a director. Gone Baby Gone and The Town were both awesome, really looking forward to Argo.
EDIT: Im also about to watch The Godfather for the first time. Everybody hails this as the greatest movie of all time, yet Ive never seen it. Ty AMCs mafia week.

I liked the line about mewling.
Oh, what about LotR? Technically two LotR remakes in the last decade.

I hate Jackson's movies =P, so that's all that really needs to be said.

I've said before what movies I like; but I really do hate Peter Jackson and his 'vision'. What he did to King Kong was just @#$%ing horrible, and I'm not a fan of the Lord of the Rings in the first place, so makes sense I'm not a huge fan of the movies either.

As corny as the old one is, it's still a thousand times better then the remake lol.
