The Conjuring was one of the best demon/spirit/possession/haunting movies I've ever seen. I feel like this is going to go down as a classic. It has all of what makes the genre great, while avoiding all of the cliches. Great acting, great writing, really great cinematography.
%^&* looks like they're not using the Nolan BatmanWoot muther %^&*ing woot.
GO BACK TO YOUR CORNER YOU BURTON LOVING FREAK
Well I disagree with the sentiment, but to each his own I suppose...

As I've said a few times, it's more with what he did to the villains of the movies that really pissed me off above all else, except for Crane.

I was just joking :p
Anyway, while I still disagree with the sentiment, since I loved Bane and the Joker, I doubt having Bale play Batman would make a difference in that regard. Zack Snyder is directing the movie, not Christopher Nolan. My main worry with recasting Batman and having it all take place in a different universe is that either A) We get bogged down in another origin story, or B) Batman gets completely shafted.
They already built up a successful franchise with the Nolan trilogy. Better to build on that reputation and give Marvel a real run for their money then flip a coin on another reboot less than four years later.

Finally got around to seeing the Evil Dead remake. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Adding Bruce Campbell at the end of the credits was a nice touch.

That's....unexpexpected.
You'd think they would want a CGI Sentinel, unless that's meant to be a proto-type shown in the movie itself.

Still glad they're not using the Nolan/Bale Batman Adam?

Don't really care anymore; they just tanked the Justice League movie with that, so meh.

Sweet monkey Jesus in a cross shaped tree.
.....I'm not excited in the least. I think I'll skip seeing it in the theaters, download a copy, turn it on mute and just watch the destruction, because I have absolutely no freaking desire to listen to 'Merica saves the day!' for however long it is.

1:34, A WILD BRYAN CRANSTON HAS APPEARED!
In all seriousness, I think this looks awesome. This is basically gonna be Gareth Edward's big directorial debut as far as Hollywood is concerned. I thought Monsters was a pretty good movie, but it never received much widespread recognition. Not even commenting on the previous travesty of a Godzilla remake, this one looks like it will be staying much more true to Godzilla, while still maintaining a sense of modern cinema.

while still maintaining a sense of modern cinema.Hell with that, where are the rubber suits! That is Godzilla! And from the end there, looks like it's got the Zilla head shape still, as opposed to the normal look.
Like I said, have a feeling I'm not gonna enjoy it, which is a shame as I love Godzilla/Kaiju movies, oh well.

We'll always have the old Godzilla movies, but if they tried to recreate that with the rubber suites and the poorly dubbed English in an American movie today, it would flop. 1960s movies will always have their charm, but you can't really recreate stuff like that.

And making it a CGI fest is a 'better' idea?
Edit: Which is where the 90's version made the big mistakes.
But from what it looks like, the Big G makes land fall somewhere in America.../sigh If you are going to remake a movie like that, at least make it true to the roots and have it based in Japan.

Lol no dude, that is not where the 90s version made the big mistakes. That was more a matter of them being completely untrue to the Godzilla mythos, and casting Ferris Beuller as the lead. They're going for realism with this one over campyness. I don't see how you could shoot a realistic monster movie and not use CGI.
EDIT: What makes you think Godzilla's in America? Not that such an arbitrary thing really matters, but from what I've read about the picture they're linking G to the original atomic bomb dropping, which would place him in Japan for at least part of the movie.

It's a Godzilla movie...why in the world would you go for realism? Especially when the star of the picture is either A) A dino who's been asleep for millions of years that the Bomb wakes up. B) A thing mutated by the Bomb. C) Gaia's revenge for the Bomb.
Realism and Godzilla have nothing at all to do with each other.
As for why, the casting seems to leads more credence towards a majority of it taking place in America then Japan.
But like all remakes, I'm smelling this becoming a massive pile of flaming poo....the only thing we can hope is that it's not as horrific as the King Kong remake, and there will not be a 3 hour movie with Godzilla sliding around on ice with a blonde.
Edit:
I mean we've seen it before but still.

I was about to make a point about realism and comics, then I remembered that you hated them anyways =P

Realism doesn't have to be stark realism. Modern Superman and Batman comics are hardly realistic, but they're a far cry from the campy bull$%^& you got in Silver Age comics.

The rubber suits are what made the Godzilla franchise, so deciding to remove it completely, and go for pure CGI, seems similar to the mistake that the 90's movie had already made.
