I suppose you've already asked them to acknowedge the fact that they're in a huge guild and their addon is doing nothing but spamming guild chat?

Well, you might check to see if Chatter or Prat have the ability to filter based on a pattern. I haven't tried to use them for that purpose before. Outside of those, there's probably some simple addon that does it, but I have, again, not had any motivation to look.
Check the chat categories of WoWInterface and Curse?

Sorry, OP. I couldn't help but start that ^.
Glad you got it straightened out.

One small thing:
What if someone is genuinely congratulating you for something, and you filter it out?
I know that I personally have a thick enough skin that I don't need a thank you (or a grats in the first place) for things like that, but some people might get uppety over it.

*!@# those people.
edit: Or set up an auto-grats-thanker. And an anti-auto-grats-thanker to hide those. And then you'd need an anti-grats-thanker-"you're_welcome"er.

Well, if the Prat module is using Lua patterns, you can constrain it to only match messages that are
only
those strings, rather than all strings that contain them. So...
^Grats$
^Congrats$
...and so on.
