Maybe the hacker is also in his email, and got password change/recovery?

Ok here goes maybe some can tell me what is up here! I went on to leatherworking and when i got up to around 300 skil lvl i found i needed dragon scales and turtle scales to make some leather armor.
Well i searched wow head to find these scales and went to the areas to find the dragon scales... nothing was found. so i read on and found there used to be 2 quest which made u chose betewwn dragon scales or turtle scales. without those old quest i think u can not find either unless u beat the boss dragons or turtles toget a random amount of the diffrent scales! well that is not fair to delete the quest and leave in the matrials to make the leather. So this leaves the new players at the mercy of the Ah and the old players? If there is a resolve to this i would like to know! Or if i am wrong then how do u get thos scales?
I'm not sure I know exactly what you are asking. Yes, I believe the armor specializations have been removed. You seem to be having problems skilling up past level 300?

Best bet is to look at the list for the profession and figure out which items take the least materials to make. It looks like the Wicked Leather Belt is the best bet, since it just requires 14 rugged leather and some vendor mats. Most of the other stuff requires extra things like hides, or enchanted leather, or essences, or turtle scales. Wicked Leather Belt will get you to 320 easily, or up to 330 very easily if you have the guild perk. Once you get to 310 skill, though, you can start using Outland materials to continue skilling up.
So I would not bother with turtle scales or dragon scales. Use "normal" materials to get to at least 310, then move on to Outland items.

It used to be you could specialise in leatherworking ( Dragonscale Tribal or Elemental I think) but that was removed. Turtle scales are from _ turtles found on beaches hinterlands dustwallow etc, Similarly you get dragon scales from skinning dragons. Be prepared to skin quite a few as you mostly get just leather and less frequently ...scales. the lowest level Dragons would be Azshara. A good place for Dragon scales also is The temple of Atal Hakkar in Swamp of sorrows. Seriously just keep going .

I'll tell you a quick story of what happened to a co-worker of mine last friday. I'm hoping to hear what you think of it, because I'm baffled.
His WoW account had been inactive for two months. I saw him sign on and called him at work to tell him someone was on his account. He then logged on to his battle.net account on his phone and changed his password.
Saturday he tried to login to his account and someone had changed his password.
I asked him if the password he changed it to on friday was another password he used for something on his computer, and he said no. He said he changed it to his middle name + birth year and he has never used that as a password before.
What happened here?
Best thing to do would be to speak with a Bizzard representative, and sort out the problem again. It could be a simple clerical error, and maybe they reset the password wrong or something. It is possible for human error, after and - and since you didn't mention that your colleague had tried to log in after initially changing the password, maybe he didn't until that following Saturday?
Well regardless, I would suggest sorting out the issue once again by phone, changing the email on the account to more secure one, and adding an authenticator to the account once this had been done.
After I got hacked while inactive (those gold sellers do this all the time ==) I figured it's best to be completely secure, than have to go through all that chaos again.
I spoke to a GM that should know these answers and kept refering me back to wow head.
Owch. Whenever I speak with a GM, they always try to deal with the matter themselves. Seems odd to have them refer you to Wowhead :/ I did get reffered to a Youtube video once :P
With regards to leatherworking though, I have noticed there's a few recipes that are no longer obtainable also (prolly with other professions too :/) In the case of
Pattern: Deviate Scale Gloves
and
Pattern: Deviate Scale Cloak
for example, the Vendor
Kalldan Felmoon
seems to have gone AWOL.
Wowhead mentions him as "in the Barrens" but since he used to be Wailing Caverns and isn't there since Cataclysm, unless he's wandering around outside somewhere, this is incorrect. There's no mention of whether these recipes have become World drops or the like, so go figure :/
