You are obviously playing with 'non-serious' folk. They seem to just be playing for the hell of it. That's not a problem, it is a 'game' after all.
You could non-chelantly suggest they seek ''improvement" information from wowhead or elitist jerks, or some form of online help so they can improve their ratings.
I'm assuming you are winning your arenas?
Are you missing the challenge?
Do you miss getting your ass handed to you?
How are your battlegrounds?
Note: switch servers. . . . just a thought :)

PvP is not balanced in 1v1.

The point is, you have the experience, they don't, that's what makes you think they are bad. They are. I am...
Personally, I'm aiming for a 5 or 10 rating in the hopes there will finally be something I can win. The resilience mechanic of the game has it all wrong: Players who PvP have got the skills to defeat others, and while they are wtfpwning they get the mechanics to become invincible (resilience gear), while ppl who don't PvP have 0 resilience and therefor are down in 3 GCDs. This does not incite me to start PvP... Once you're at 3000 or so it may be OK, but now?
Another thing that stops ppl new to PvP are the gazillion stuns, interrupts etc etc in game. Whenever someone attacks me by the time I can finally move again I'm at half health. I start casting to try and retaliate, interrupt... Cast again, stunned...
Honestly, I hope to someday get a rating low enough so I go up agains ppl who are as good at PvP as I am so I can try and learn because being ganked is not really learning me anyting...
So yeah, bad PvPers are bad, and I think it's a combination at being bad at it that makes you want to stop doing it (as the PvE-part of the game is one big instant gratification fest) and the human trait of not wanting to ask for help / being embarrassed to do so?

I'm a new PvPer.... well not new I've played it in the lower brackets but dropped out at 80 to become a raider.
The problem here is that any time I ask anything about PvP or arena all I get is "LOL n00b!" and "Go check wowhead or arena junkies." No one provides any real help. This may be I'm on a PvE server but as often as people spam for 2v2s and so forth you'd think they'd be a little bit more helpful... I've checked wowhead and arena junkies and the best info I've gotten is "the talents should be obvious" Well in short no they are not. I know my PvE spec like the back of my hand because I've been a raider for so long.
The problem I'm having as enh sham is that I have all these talents I need to take (earthen power, the rooting one and so forth) yet I don't have enough points to get all what I need and I have no clue what to drop out to get it...
TL:DR I get trolled when I ask questions in game.

@Timberwolf64 I'm very shy so I usually stay away from skype and stuff (yay social phobia) I just was wondering how I get earthen power and the snare effect talent but still pack my call of fire to make my searing totem more effective. and do we use toughness at all?
I know that it's gonna take time to get my PvP skill back up to snuff and I'm still in the process of building all my gear up.
As for people I'm asking I've tried trade, in bgs, and my guild. they referred me to AJ (the ones in my guild) I've found stuff for resto but then for enh there was nothing... they say that the talents are obvious but the problem is the ones you need to take, there are not enough points to go around unless you drop some other stuff and I don't know exactly what I should drop...
(I can get away with dropping reverberation maybe but that still leaves me about 4 points off >.< )

hey would you be opposed to talking in game? ill write a rsp but i feel i have a lot of info better explained so you can question as i go through it. ill still type up a rsp here.
That might work. I'm ok in game just talking in person makes me hide under my blankets. also I finally got some help in game. my guildies decided that for fun we'd make a 5s team and I'm with another enh sham so they are giving me a ton of pointers. ^^
moral of the story I guess is for gods sake don't go to general chat to ask questions. find a real pvper or a good guild that is willing to help out ^^
(trying to keep this all in around about way on topic I guess ^^; )
