There you go, extermianner
I am sure you can imagine the magnitude of this change and what it did to the U.S (and in extension, the world?)
Ahh, I see. I knew some of it already, but never knew it was so big and all.

I'm mad because people are acting like these idiots are heroes or something...they aren't. And why should I link the laws when you google them same as I can.
Just keep an eye on your credit card statement ;)Well since I've never put my credit card information on the PSN, don't really need to worry that now do I? Of course, if the hackers started selling off that personal information, that drops into Fraud, which opens them up to a whole other world of law breaking and even more time in jail.
Wait so new DLC for the PSP is FREE? Shocker. Must be some quality stuff brah.
My DLC was in another game I purchased for Dissidia 2 and since I couldn't access the PSN, I could redeem the code to add it into my game. Good job jumping to conclusions brah!
Awwww man guess I was wrong. I admit that. I can do this you see as I am a man. I humbly apologize. You still mad though.

This is not the actual law it is an article stating that some dudes went to jail for it. The answer is there is NO specific law in the U.S. about DDoS. They can however bend the law to fit this into the "Computer Fraud and Abuse Act", BUT hey these guys are willing to do a few years in prison to get corporations to stop being corrupt.

Stop being corrupt?
And my point was to say that yes, DDoS attacked are illegal. There might not be a law specifically for DDoS, but it falls under other laws and thus is still illegal.

Again, because of morons like Lulzsec who don't think before they do stupid @#$%; hitting a company that legitimately does bad things; polluting, lying, cheating(such as Enron or any other megacorp), whatever that's fine...hitting a company that is just trying to protect it's software and it's products from pirating and hacking...not so much. I mean, you even said what they were doing is for 'great justice'....yeah no it's not: It's for the lulz, just like their pathetic little name says.

I said Sony deserved it, however what they are doing now is not acceptable. You don't think Sony deserved it because you are obviously angry about not being able to download your DLC. Sony Online was taken down because of the George Hotz lawsuit, NOT for the lulz. What they are doing now is because of their members getting arrested, NOT for the lulz.

I still never got an answer as to why it is legal to Jail-break your iPhone which Hotz also did, but illegal to do so with your PlayStation. I am going to assume I win this thread if no one responds to this in 48 hours.

And why are their members being arrested? Because they broke the law. And no, I don't think Sony was in the wrong in this case.....also, interesting piece of note
seems that Hotz doesn't agree with Lulzsec's antics either

After being sued by a multi-billion dollar corporation and being 21 years old do you think he would admit that it had anything to do with it? No of course not he isn't a dumbass.
Anyway, your post is invalid as it did not have anything to do with the iPhone Jail-breaking being legal, yet doing the same to a PS3 is illegal. I heard sleep helps with anger bro.

Sorry bro, but just because you think lulzsec is sex on wheels, it doesn't automatically invalidate any posts that disagree with you; kind of the opposite actually. And people aren't responding to your jailbreaking comment because they don't want to. He also settled with Sony, and guess he knows right from wrong which the Lulz idiots don't.
Also, the anger comments? Getting old...'bro'.

They were old the very second they got trotted out. Almost nothing makes me lose respect for someone faster than that does.

Never said I like Lulzsec. I don't. I think they are going to force governments to monitor the internet (which no one wants obviously). So quit putting words in my mouth. Also your posts are invalid because you pick a part the points you want to argue, not the actual argument here. Which is that I don't think George Hotz did anything wrong when he modded his PS3 and distributed the way to do it. On the topic of the anger comments you seem to have calmed down. I don't know if you took a quick nap or what, however you WERE mad, and you can not deny that. You were cursing up a storm bro.
Sony sued a man for cracking the PS3 source code and posting it online.
I still never got an answer as to why it is legal to Jail-break your iPhone which Hotz also did, but illegal to do so with your PlayStation.
Hmmm...
While I disagree with people who extract software in order to use it for free, I tend to see Jailbreaking in a different light. I see Jailbreaking laws as an example of copyright creep. I've bought your software therefore how am I harming you in any way if I intend to use your software in a way that you did not precisely and exactly intend?
What's the difference between Jailbreaking a PS3 and buying a Dell PC to strip out all the software and install Linux?
There isn't a difference. I want to see proof that what George was doing was "harming" Sony. He was modding his console to get further functionality out of it. I think that this should be his choice as he bought the console. It is the SAME thing as jail-breaking the iPhone. I don't see how you can see it in a different light as people Jail-Break their iPhones to get normally paid apps for free, or to get wi-fi hotspot functionality which the carrier would normally charge for.
There is some issues with it comes to is it legal to jailbreak a PS3. Some people are using these hacks for illegal purposes such as copying games to the playstation hard drive that they do not own, which of course it is not legal to do so. Jailbreaking the Iphone/Ipod is considered “fair use” which does not violate any copyright laws and is completely legal.
What is Jailbreaking a PS3
People who are jail-breaking iPhones are also "stealing". They get games such as Angry Birds without paying for them. They jail-break and download whatever they want to the phone. How is this NOT the same?

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here. Are you agreeing that jailbreaking a PS3 should be legal, given it is legal to do with your phone?
The first part of this puts it quite well:
What is Jailbreaking a PS3
There is some issues with it comes to is it legal to jailbreak a PS3. Some people are using these hacks for illegal purposes such as copying games to the playstation hard drive that they do not own, which of course it is not legal to do so. Jailbreaking the Iphone/Ipod is considered “fair use” which does not violate any copyright laws and is completely legal.
Essentially I own the hardware. As long as I'm not using it to try to get software for free as far as I'm concerned it's a box of processors and graphics cards which I should be free to use as I so wish. If I want to use it as an extra hard drive for my pc I should be free to do so.
Essentially it's the difference between buying a book and either going "Hey everyone - here's the whole book online for free" (Copyright breach) or "Hey everyone, this book can also prop up my wobbly table - look" (Jailbreaking). (Sorry for the weird analogy.) I'm still using the hardware I paid for, sorry if it isn't quite the way Sony intended.
Yet again I state people who are jail-breaking iPhones are also "stealing". They get games such as Angry Birds without paying for them. They jail-break and download whatever they want to the phone. How is this NOT the same?
I see where you are coming from with the whole people are downloading games illegally and stuff. However if it is legal for an iPhone user to jail-break, it should be legal for a PS3 user. They both run the same risks of people stealing. Only difference is people are stealing from a lot more than one source when they do it on the iPhone.
