There are a lot to choose from but I think my favorite memories have been raiding with a lot of good people over the past few years. If I had to choose just one it would be finally getting Alone in the Darkness after dozens of tries and countless hours spent in Ulduar working towards it. I hope Firelands can be as good as Ulduar was.
When I started playing World of Warcraft I was pretty much a lone wolf for a long time. Even after I had begun taking occasional, cautious sips from the Five-Player Dungeon Well, I was still pluckily soloing "group" quests like The Amphitheater of Anguish with only my faithful pet Fire Elemental and trusty Wolf Twins. However, after much persuasion a friend of mine eventually convinced me to come (nervously) along with him to a 25-player Onyxia fight.I had no idea what to expect, but they explained what Ony was going to do, and what I should do, and what I should not do. Still, I was balanced on a razor's edge the whole time; the sound of my own heart rung in my ears louder than the victory celebrations after the Brood Mother fell, and the adrenaline in my system gave the figurative taste of victory a metallic bite. It felt like the proposal, wedding, and reception to my marriage with raiding, all condensed into a span of a few minutes. I soon-after joined a guild, saw new and interesting places, killed new and interesting villians. Raiding and I are still happily together as we pass this next milestone into the Firelands. And as I beat her resurrected zombie corpse back into her grave it reminded me that I owe it all to Ony; I'll never forget her!
i remember the first time i set foot on old hillsbrad dungeon, and to listen the old song for human campaign from WCIII, it was so epic, i so loved that moment.
My favorite moment is probably shared with many others: defeating the Lich King for the very first time. I hadn't been able to get very deep into raiding during classic (pugging Onyxia and AQ20 if I was lucky) nor BC (still farming Kara when Sunwell came out because we couldn't get a consistent team for the 25-man tiers), so this was the first time I had participated in bringing down the end boss of an expansion at the appropriate level.
I have a few great memories of playing WoW. My most fond memory is leveling a character with my boss. I know that sounds strange, but it added to the friendship we had and made it easier to work with him. I have since moved on to other bosses, but playing WoW with my boss still remains one of the greatest times I have had in this game. Love ya Tim!EDIT: Actually, I just thought of another one... During Beta 2 or 3, I can't remember, they had put in Duskwood but had not added Deadwind pass. In the build notes they asked everyone not to wander in to that area, needless to say I found myself exploring caves and pathways that I should not have been on and got myself stuck between a few rocks. It was one of those spots where when you cast a spell it would cause you to move the slightest bit, not even the /stuck command was working (I think they had just added it in that build). I ended up having to tell the GM that I was snooping around where I was not supposed to and fearful that I was going to get banned or something. Not my best moment in WoW, but a memorable one.
Near the end of Vanilla, my guild was one of the few guilds on our server that had killed the Twin Emperors and was still doing them. The top guild on our faction/server needed to go and do C'thun for the base of their Atiesh, but was busy doing Naxx (this was before you could extend raid lockouts). So, we let them use our AQ40 instance in exchange for letting 5 of us come to see the fight to help our guild with Ouru and C'thun. We do Ouru no problem and move to C'thun. For C'thun they just put the 5 members in our guild in the same group and went over the fight blah blah blah. Now a little back story, our guild was considered a "noob" guild by many of the top end guilds on our server for different reasons. So we're all like "OK, we're going to show these guys that we aren't noobs! Our guild rep is on the line. Let's do this!" So, during the 2nd or 3rd attempt we're killing tentacles and a beam chains to our group killing 2 of us and then C'thun does dark glare in our area, which kills the other living members of our group. We were the only ones dead at that point. And their guys on vent are like:"What's up with group 7?""They're all dead. (lol)"We didn't mess up after that, but we had a good laugh in guild chat about it.
I have to say my favorite memory would be working on my actual 'first' toon, up until about level 25 which was the point where i realized that mining and alchemy just didn't go very well together as professions. Sadly, you could not unlearn professions at that point so I proceeded to delete him and begin my adventures as a warrior ( all the better for it! ). I still feel ridiculous, but its a story that never gets old.
my favorite memory is actually alot of different things, thinking back to the first time I ran scarlet monastery, thinking back to my first horde toon (my prot warrior Morguean) remembering all the different people i met. enjoying all my time spent raiding and sitting in trade talking to people having a good time.
My first raid.I was scared as hell because I was supposed to heal on my Holy Paladin and had no idea if I was geared enough or... what to do in general. But mostly, I was scared of disappointing my guildmates. It went pretty smoothly, though. One of the best fun I've had in this game, for sure!
First WSG, it was amazing, when I join everyone have been buffing and prepare to fight...
My favorite memory of old wow was when i got my 1st epic ever from Zul'farrak i got Sul'Thraze The Lasher i was so happy when i got it and it actually felt like and achievement. This was back in BC btw.
It's been so long since anything worth remembering has happened in WoW. Uh I guess it was the first time I went through the Dark Portal and saw the huge pit commander and all those demons there. I just thought it was really cool. I even took a screenshot of it lol
