My most glorious moment was when my guild finally downed Kael in TK after weeks and weeks of wiping. What makes it a bit more amazing was that a Rogue "tanked" Kael for the last 20 or so seconds of it using evasion. It just felt so good to finally kill Kael after 3 weeks.
In the old days of vanilla wow I was in a guild that was the joke of our server. I had started out in a guild of friends, but moved to this guild because they were in Molten Core and I wanted to see the “rest of the game!” It had one of those names where an “i” was replaced with an uppercase “L” because the name was already taken—an unending source of mockery for us. I played a gnome warlock then. Getting attuned to MC was a wild, difficult adventure for me, especially finding help to do BRD! But that first step into Molten Core really changed the game completely. Everything was so big, so dramatic, so bright. There before me stood that first pair of giants, the fiery sentinels themselves, in between me and my 39 new found friends and truly epic loot. Weeks passed and we finally took down Majordomo and were ready to take on Ragnaros himself. We had all the potions money could buy; we had an Onyxia head waiting to be turned in for Rallying Cry. We were as prepared as we could ever be. We were the underdogs and no one on the server thought we could do it. Our raid leader decided we should do a dry run to get the bad out; save the fire protection potions and the Onyxia head for later. Everyone got to their positions around the spiral and the main tank walked forward and started the encounter. And then—a blur. Years later, as jaded as I am, boss RP seems to take hours as I tap impatiently on my keys, waiting for that “finger” to turn to the “sword” so I can get the show on the road. But it seemed like only seconds and Majordomo was knocked away, and the fight began. Everyone was performing flawlessly, everything was going so well! As Ragnaros’ health dropped steadily, I felt a rising excitement. Our guild leader shushed everyone on Ventrillo, even though no one was talking. Focus up! Ragnaros dove beneath the lava and everyone scrambled to handle the adds. And then he was back, and then suddenly he was at 10%...5%...3%...1%.... gone! As his hammer crashed to the ground, Ventrillo exploded. People laughing and yelling and congratulating each other; 39 people all at once it seemed. But I was silent because I was busy surreptitiously wiping away a tear (seriously!) from the corner of my eye. We did it, we really did it. This band of grammatically, politically, everything incorrect misfits… and me.
My favorite memory in WoW was being yelled at by a DK telling me to learn how to play my class cause he was trying to tank and couldn't hold hate off me. (Mind you I was a Protection Paladin ;D)
my favorite memory of wow would be my very first raid (ZG!) - back than zul gurub was still a raid instance and a very epic adventure!I was a fresh level 60 holy Priest back than and was very nervous for shouldering the responsibility to heal more than 4 other people in contrast to 5 man dungeon.(What irony that ZG is in fact a 5 man dungeon today^^)The Raid itself was a huge success and I even managed to win the heart of hakkar - an item which I than wore for the next six months :)
Making Level 30 and taming King Bangalash, solo. Took a few attempts, but it was well worth it!55 levels later and I'm still using him as my main pet :)
My favorite memory would have to be my first day playing WoW. I began playing much later than most people (May of 2010), so I'm not a seasoned veteran. The first character I ever made was a human warrior (now a worgen warrior) and questing through Elwynn Forest was an experience of pure bliss. Exploring mines, killing boars, and not taking kobold's candles were definitely the most enjoyable memories of my WoW experience. I remember equipping poor quality gear, not understanding my stat priorities, and trying to beat Deadmines with only my friend and I, unprepared for the extreme difficulty of our first 'instance' (a word unknown to us at the time) and panicing at each elite enemy as we turned corners. I remember making friends in WoW and joining my first guild and having them teach me the basics of 'tanking' during a hectic run of Blackfathom Deeps (my first Mind Control had my head spinning). Today I'm the raid leader in my guild, but a little more than a year ago, I was a confused noob who didn't know his 'greens' from his 'blues' and was having the most enjoyable time of my life.
My favorite memory from WoW was completing my first dungeon Sunken Temple (I didnt even know what a dungeon was up till that level until someone asked me to go). I was a troll rogue and it was during vanilla. It took 6 hours and over 10 different people to finish! Needless to say I was the only one from the original party to finish it! It was quite the PUG! I went in a noob and left a slightly more experienced noob!
My favourite moment is definitely walking through the Dark Portal for the first time.Being too distracted by all of the new scenery I somehow looked past the gigantic Fel Reaver running straight towards me.... awsome!
My favorite memory was when i got to level 69 on my hunter, and got a Core Hound pet and the leeeeeeeeroy achievment on that same day when i first seen that you had to do it in 15 seconds and wasnt able to do it, i thought "why not get one of my higher level friends to help me with it since im already here." When he got there we both got that achievment one the very first try!
