I was having the same problem equipping dual Colossal Skull-Clad Cleavers for my fury warrior, but I found a solution.
Initially I had +85 attack power on both but I had my guildmate change one of them to +50 attack power so that the following solution will work.
If they're enchanted differently, find out what their exact item id's are. Equip both and run this once:copy and paste the following line into your chat box in-game.
/run local function id(s) return string.match(GetInventoryItemLink("player",s) or "","(item:.+:%d+)") end ChatFrame1:AddMessage("MH:"..id(16).."\nOH:"..id(17))
It will display something like this :for duel wielding colossal skull-clad cleavers one with +85 attack power and the other with +50 attack power gave the following results. If you use identical enchants you will have the same problem as before.
MH=item:37852:3828:0:0:0:0:0:0
OH=item:37852:1606:0:0:0:0:0:0
Using those exact item id's you can tweak this macro to toggle 2h and the two same-named weapons:
/equipslot 16 item:37852:3828:0:0:0:0:0:0
/equipslot 17 item:37852:1606:0:0:0:0:0:0
enjoy

How about a solution that doesn't sacrifice stats?
/z local i,b,s=16 for b=0,4 do for s = 0,50 do if 37852==GetContainerItemID(b,s)then PickupInventoryItem(i)i=i+1 PickupContainerItem(b,s)end end end^drycoded

Item sets

Meh, same difference.

Yeah. What Knarko said
:)
. I can't
stand
item swapping macros. I've been using addons for that since the Carrot on a Stick was required to be competitive while mounted in PvP. And the Mithril Spurs.

There are times where weapon swapping macros are useful or needed. I switch between my ilvl 372 bow and my ilvl 359 thrown weapon depending on whether or not I'm attacking a single target or actually using Fan of Knives. It takes all of one GCD, and using itemsets or the like for that would probably be needlessly complicated.

Why not just use the Equipment Manager to do that?

...would probably be needlessly complicated.
/equip <knifename>; <bowname>
/equipset Set1; Set2
yes, item set macros are very complicated.

Item set macros aren't complicated themselves. You just need to make and maintain the itemset instead of just equipping the item itself. Why should I use two steps to complete something that can be done in one?

You set up your itemset once and update it every time you acquire new gear.
vs
You set up your macro once and update it every time you acquire new gear.
What's the difference?
Item sets are easier to maintain than macros anyway. All you have to do is after equipping the new piece of gear...
Itemsets:
Press C and hit the conveniently placed Save button.
(easy)
Macros:
Figure out the item ID or copy/paste the item's name if it is not a duplicate, type /m, find the macro on a possibly huge list of macros, find the line you have to change, delete the old item, add in the new item.
(hard)
And if you don't know how to copy/paste item names, you have to type it yourself, matching the original, letter to letter.
Don't forget one important thing: Item sets don't have to include every equipment slot. I have a Fishing item set that only swaps out my headgear and weapon for a fisherman hat and a fishing pole. I don't have to update it every time I get a new pair of gloves or a new trinket, those slots are left alone (disabled).
