Hello everyone, new hunter player here
(bm spec cuz marksman is no-brainer)
So is it true to say that the powerfulness of my pet is directly proportional to my hunter? or if my hunter is stronger then my pet is stronger?
If true, how so?
Just want to know it is calculated,
like, which of my stats affect my pet? agi? crit? haste? etc.
thx :)

You can check which stats affect your pet by looking at your own stats in the character window on the UI. (I cant check right now b/c the servers are ofline) It's probably things like agil, str, etc..
Happy hunting!

it gets 50% of ur AP
80% of ur armor

I'm very sure that pets get
100%
of the hunter's Crit, Haste and Hit. Hit also increases the pets Expertise so that the pet's attacks cannot be dodged (if attacking from behind and the hunter is Hit capped).
Mastery
also increases the damage BM pets do. I'm not entirely sure how much of the hunter's AP is inherited by the pet, but to answer to OP's question:
Pets scale very well with the hunter's stats and their power will increase proportionally as your gear improves.

I'd assume Orlange means it's currently the most 'popular' or common spec as it's outperforming Surv and BM, while BM is the 'underdog' because it is cleary inferior to the other two specs, and to most other classes, in terms of DPS. Choosing MM is, as such, a 'no-brainer', but it shouldn't mean it's the easiest spec to play (properly). Ironically Beast Mastery actually has the least complex rotation/shot priority. You could argue that in return the BM hunter is required to manage his/her pet better than the other two specs, which is partly true, however in my opinion a good MM/Surv hunter should manage their pet just as well.
