I recently returned to the game and so thought it would be a sensible idea to update all the addons I had left on my PC.
I deleted all the files in my AddOn folder and proceded to download all the addons In required but then when I launced the game the small addon menu button in the bottom left of the screen will not show up. Honestly I have no idea why it won't show up so am completely lost in how to approach fixing it. Any insight as to what might be wrong /how to fix it would be much apreciated as I really don't like playin with the default UI.
PS: Addon menu button thingy was showing up before I deleted my old out of date addons.

Are you sure you unzipped the addons in the correct folder, ie. wow/interface/addons?

Yep I'm sure they are in the right place

Can't see what the problem is.
Try entering the game. The game itself will create some addons (names blizzard_something)
Make sure your addons are on that folder as well.
"wow_root"/interface/addons/"addon folders"
Still not working?
Try deleting the wtf folder (this will reset the game configurations)
No luck yet?
Use the repair tool
Im out of ideas by now :(

Check that you have saved the addons in the actual WoW folder from which you are running the game. If the addons are saved in one folder, but you are in fact running from another you wont see them.

That's my guess. Right click the shortcut you use to launch WoW and look for the "Target" field. If it shows C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe, then you need to install your add-ons to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns.
I would also recommend moving any installation of WoW to C:\World of Warcraft.

I would also recommend moving any installation of WoW to C:\World of Warcraft.
Any particular reason why you recommend this?

It's that whole write-protected program files folder thing. Moving your WoW installation to C:\ will prevent problems with add-ons being unable to write their settings files correctly.

Never heard of that, sorry. Why would WoW not be able to write its config files in Program Files while you can catch viruses (or any other nasty stuff) just by surfing the web?
... mine is running on
D:\Games
.

I have tried everything mentioned here as well as moving other things around to free up disk space but nothing has worked... I guess the only thing left to do is phone Tech support which I'm not too keen on doing because my only other experience with them was similair to pulling teeth :(

I tried reinstalling WoW and still doesn't work, just thought I'd bump this rather than starting a new thread to see if anyone else had any ideas as to what is wrong :/

What version of Windows do you have? XP, Vista, 7?

Can you post a screenshot of your addon folder with the addons on it please?

I also could not load addons a while ago. I recreated my shortcut and then I could load them.
The problem was because the shortcut was using an incorrect path to an old install of my game. It could find the game files, but it couldn't find my addons folder.
Not sure if you're having the same issues.
