At Shannox, no one seems to realise how to most efficiently reset the stacks of both tanks. It's quite simple really, and I'm surprised no guides or anything that I've read, suggest it. Quite simply tank Riplimb next to a Crystal Trap and when the spear is thrown, kite him into it. This will surely reset the stacks of the OT (as trying to aim him into a trap after returning the spear would aswell), but it also resets the stacks of the MT at every throw.

There's the link on the front page where Tankspot explains the fights in full detail. Here's the link for any tanks curious about the tidbits and whatnots. You'll have to listen to that one
Aliena
lady, though. :o

Aliena doesn't bother me actually. Her original vids (back in TotC I think?) were really tough to listen to, but she's improved a
lot
, imo.

Also on Shannox, one thing I've been told works quite well (if you can time it right) is to keep Riplimb and Shannox 60 yards apart (ofc), and when the spear gets thrown the Riplimb tank runs
toward
the boss so the dog has to run back to the spear before heading for Shannox. Essentially it gives the doggy about 90 yards distance to run, which should be enough time for the bleed to come off - with more chance of traps and slows going off as a nice bonus.
Note that I've not actually tried this, so I can't vouch for its effectiveness, I just thought I'd add it.

You are much better off actually specifically watching Riplimb's debuff and positioning near a trap, rather than relying on luck.
That said, this tactic does work. Early on in the fight there isn't necessarily a crystal trap far out by Riplimb. As the spear is getting thrown, I do run off to the side, usually far enough to be at the outter ring of the fire on the ground. I don't necessarily run toward Shannox, but just any direction to the side is fine.

this actually works amazingly well. we started off using the freeze trap method, but the tank doing riplimb had various issues - finding the right trap, being sure the dog avoids other traps, etc. when we said forget the traps and just learn to do it without them, we got it down very quickly.
what he does is runs toward shannox as soon as he starts the spear throw. warriors can intervene to gap the dog even easier, or you can use priests to grab other tanks. the dog follows him all the way into the raid and smacks him once, then heads back to fetch the spear. at this point, you throw a slow on the dog (our dog tank is a DK, so chains).
i didn't realize that you had to reset stacks without traps in heroic mode, but if so you might as well get good at it now.

Sorry, I think I worded that badly. I meant having the dog run the extra distance gave you more time in which to apply more slows - and if your original positioning is good he should also end up in a trap.
Good to know it works though, cheers!

His
videos
are awesome, very very well put together and informative. I find
him
incredibly irritating. I think it's just his voice /shrug

That was the problem we were having when we first had a crack at him. The traps are tiny and with everything going on the tank couldn't always even see the traps, let alone get proper positioning on them. We did end up seperating dog and master, but we couldn't seem to quite get enough distance.
It was a fairly short raid unfortunately, and then our MT went on holiday, so while I've been filling in for him it's made more sense to work on Rhyolith. I'm pretty confident I can handle Riplimb now though.
