So I am super accustomed to my melee/tank class aka my warrior and am in need of help with choosing a caster/healer class. What would you recommend?

A priest. Discipline and Holy cover most areas of healing and Shadow is great for DPS and mana.

Well, from another warrior, I have to say I
love
my ele/resto shammy. The healing side is nice and flexible, easy to get to grips with (priests have too many buttons, imo) and pretty powerful.
Elemental...well, what can I say? Lava Burst ftfw <3
My observations so far:
Priest - It's ok, but I haven't enjoyed levelling it enough to actually do the research, and a lot of it seems pretty counter-intuitive. I haven't actually done any healing so far with my priest, so I can't say much, but there are a lot of heals and cooldowns and all sorts of crap going on there. Looks pretty daunting to get into at first glance.
Note: I'm sure it's not as bad as it looks, but I don't care enough to do it. Meh.
Druid - lots of love for the druid. The most flexible class in the game in that it can perform all four roles, so you're unlikely to get bored with it. HoTs are potent and fun to play with and being a mobile healer is awesome, particularly coming from a melee background where it seems like you're
constantly
moving to avoid/catch something.
Boomkin is...it's fun seeing those big numbers, but for me it just lacks a bit of real 'oomph' in the actual style, rather than the damage output (damage output is great). I dunno, I'm just not a fan I guess.
Shaman - as I said above,
love
it. Lava Burst to the face packs all the BOOM you'll ever want and they're so easy to heal with without being boring. otems are always welcome in any group, and you do have a decent amount of mobility through things like Spiritwalker's Grace and instant Ghost Wolf.
On a side-note, I'm a bit obsessed with interrupting things, and Shaman have the best interrupt in the game, which is another thing I adore about them. I want a 6 sec cd Pummel for my warrior :P

Thank you guys soo much for your opinions I really appreciate it. I'm just a bit taken aback when debating shaman elemental and enhance because enhance is awesome but I feel like I'm playing melee or maybe I should not think of it that way. I guess I am trying to really learn to play the patient caster type class so that I can stop the button smashing of warrior in me.

Yeah, Enhancement is definitely melee (though it does have a heavy dose of magic, you're almost 99% of the time doing instant casts thanks to
procs).
As for my opinion:
I love me some Warriors, and the only casters I can stand to play are either Druids or Shaman. I don't know why, but I can't get a grip on any of the clothy classes, so the hybrids are my go-to classes when it comes to pew-pew lasers time.

Also: If things go sour and it turns out you dislike being a caster, you can always respec into a melee/healing spec.

Im saying mage. He is good guy and that normal magicman. Mage is default thing for casters. Mages like frost and fire who are cool things. Mage is default caster and warrior is default meleerer. So that is my message for you.

Warriors are my favorite, but my mind was blown by the awesomeness that are shammies. They can heal, they can be a caster, and they can rip stuff up in melee. They aren't really difficult to play/level as, they're a blast with their fun abilities, and people are
always
looking for shammies in raids. :D
P.S. I mentioned that they can tear stuff a 'new one' in melee, right?

No prob, but if you're seriously focused on being a 'caster', the clothies would be your best bet. Either for a change of pace, a challenge to over come, or... You just wanna imagine your character in a dress... Sure beats a fursuit. *Cough*Druids*Cough*. Anywho, I'm most interested in trying out a Warlock when I get the chance. Namely Demonology. I can pretend my chacter is like the demon hunter from WC3. >>; Still, keep that Shammy around, they're fun stuff. :3
