Dispel Magic and Cure Disease addon?

I tried using the WoW standard GUI raid frames for
Purify
and
Dispel Magic
during my last BH run but I failed misserably. Well that and I'm severly undergeared having just hit 85 over the weekend.
I use to use the decursive addon back in WotLK. What's a good mod to use for Dispal Magic and Cure Diseases? I liked that it showed a color and I knew which one to use. The Default Raid frames only shows a teny tiny icon and I have to hover over it to see if its a magic debuff or disease. How annoying.

As a colorblind player, I never had much success with decursive, or other programs that used color based plates to indicate dispels were needed. Luckily the Cata upgrades have made dispels with the default ui much simpler. That said, if you liked Decursive use that, tho Healbot and I'm sure a few others (possibly Vuhdo, tho I haven't messed with it in ages) can do the same.
On dispels, assignments make it much easier, just watch for the debuff on your target, dispel and profit. If a fight has tons of dispels (25 man BH comes to mind), remember you have mass dispel. Other than that, its just a game of reactivity, if something is on a CD that needs to be dispelled, watch DBM's boss cool down, and be ready instead of being caught off guard (The first BH boss is a good example).
After taking a moment to check the current raid encounters, the need for diligent dispelling is quite low. BH is one of the few places where you will be using Dispels a lot. Sure there are some flame shocks here and there from FL trash, but very little in the way of deadly boss abilities...if any. Firelands is VERY devoid of dispels, be it magic, curses or poisons. Odd design choice imho, but if you are having trouble with it, it's a bit of a nice break

Surprisingly a lot of the heroics I'm running have tons of magic debuffs and diseases. So I'm still having issues seeing when a debuff shows up and which dispel to use. I guess I'm use to a paladin's cleanse which is more fire and forget, it covers it all.
Is there a way to make the debuff icon in the default WoW Raid frames bigger?

Decursive
is still available and updated, since you mentioned that you liked it.
If there was some reason you didn't want to use that anymore, you'd probably be best off switching to using a raid frame addon. VuhDo and Grid are both good.

Its fairly intuitive when something is a disease or magic (hint:
most are magic, as this is the only effect all healers can dispel). The designers don't want to make deadly curses, diseases, or poisons when not every healer type can address these effects. If you don't want to get an add on specifically for this, a quick look at the mob abilities here on wowhead can give you a heads up on what to watch out for.
To answer your question tho, no the default UI cannot enlarge the debuff icons, I play on a large screen television, so its not a huge issue for me, an add on would make this more visible and/or give an audio wearning.

I'll give Vuhdo a shot tonight, I've used both decurse and grid in WotLK. The problem I had with grid was that while playing my hunter it was sorta worthless. I ended up using decurse to dispel anyways.

Grid is capable of doing everything that VuhDo does -- the only thing is, Grid requires a ton of customization and supporting addons to do so. I still use it for no other reason than I've been using it for years, but it can be a little daunting to set it up the first time.
VuhDo on the other hand is pretty much set up right out of the box. You can customize it quite a bit if you want to, but it will detect your class and do a lot of things for you by default. They're both good. VuhDo is just friendlier to new users.

I use Xperl. Raid frames.
Blue for Magic, Green for Poison/Disease, Purple for Curse.
Frame wont light up if you dont have the ability to clear it.

I did notice small icons in the default UI while waiting for a BH to form. Diseases place a small skull in the upper right of the bar, whereas magic is a small swirl. Just doing 5-mans with raid frames enables should make this more visible.
Really tho, raiding with an add-on is still prolly the way to go.

I do this, and don't need no addon :) Works fine, but I still get a lot of &*!@ about it. Whatever happened to
'

?

Customization mostly. A lot of players have ui's that don't really fit with the default raid frames, coosing to use one that allows for a clearer view of the game field. I agree tho, Blizz really has done a good job improving the default raid frames that healbot and such aren't as essential as they used to be. Old habits die hard, and people always gravitate and defend what they find most comfortable.

Personally I just have the icon's show upon my Grid frames and before I do the raid or dungeon I make sure to find out through the dungeon journel what needs to be dispelled. And if I see an icon come up that I'm not expecting, then I read it's tooltip to see what kind of dispel it is.

I use healbot and decursive. so far no problems.

I gave Vuhdoo a shot but it comes with pre-determined set bindings. I know you can change them but it was annoying and conflicted with my clique setup already. So I went with decursive, and it seems to work well. Maybe I'm just use to it in the WotLK days but its small and can barely even see it.

What i liked about using decursive was that it was one less keyboard click i had to learn. which saves time and less mistakes.
