HELP ME - what am I doing wrong? PvP and Spec

(I know these threads are common but I'd like feedback based on my problems rather than someone else's.)
Okay my Mage is level 80, will be getting 85 when I get Cata. Thing is PvP lately has become so stressful I don't know what to do any more. It's got the point where I don't want to join a battle because I feel like I am a wasted space. Don't get me wrong, I can deal damage and take people out, but now it's getting to the point where as soon as I step out of the grave I get Rogued or instantly targeted by every single person in the area.
I know this is expected when you're a cloth prod, but it didn't used to be this bad. On top of this I just can't seem to control my character when it comes to dealing with someone close range. I mean I get 1 hitted by practically anything, I can't really see what I can do to prevent this situation. I can't physically think of any way of preventing getting instantly killed as soon as I spawn.
I've been Fire since I started and I think this could be my first problem. I don't know, I like the spec but it just doesn't seem to be working for me any more.
It's not that I'm a complete noob or anything, I have PvP'd on other classes and been good and enjoyed it, but this is just doing my nut in. I've read loads of guides and techniques but nothing is working.
So what I'm asking is, can anyone tell me what the $%^& I am doing wrong in PvP, why I can't even get close to the battle any more to actually aid in winning, and should I switch to a different spec, and if so could you possibly link me to an up to date talent tree?

I agree with bionicchop2 that you should play what you like and fire isn't that bad. I am would put fire high up in the list specs for pvp. It doesn't quite meet up to frost, but I still enjoy it far more than I have ever enjoyed frost.
Personally, I don't take the Imp Flamestrike talent; I take Molten Fury, so that you can finish people off a little easier and not many people are going to stand in the flamestrike. I would also go into the frost tree after you picked up Imp Counterspell because that silence is a little more important IMO.
