Gotta agree with Tim there; they've said it's a work in progress....and no, Blizzard is not going to play the game for you; they'll tell you what a boss will do, but not how to beat it, since that kinda of defeats the purpose of the fight in the first place.

It was, is, and always will be pointless, except for a read while travelling.
If you find it pointless, why do you care then? Me, I like the Dungeon Journal, as it's helped while leveling alts to recheck what the bosses do on normal mode for the Cata dungeons. It's also nice to look over the raid information, as well as check out some of the maps/images of the bosses there.

I hate how things that have no impact on my gaming are implemented... How dare they add things that I find pointless.
... seriously? Maybe you can live your life without ever opening it? Have you tried that?

Notice the difference?

well now no one has an excuse to say they don't know a boss fight because they can spend 10 minutes looking at a journal full of abilities instead of 1-2 minutes of watching a video
But eh, the dungeon finder is a useless feature. Has some of the worst players in it that you will ever meet.
Warrior Forums RealID runs this week are gonna be cool y'all!

Personally, I still prefer the rundowns here on Wowhead over the boss fight elements in the dungeon journal because the information remains more concise and simple to read than the in-game helper. (Although I do like how they put snippets of lore for each of the bosses.)
Putting in strategies for classic, TBC and WoLK bosses may not be necessary (though newer subscribers would definitely benefit), but I like using the dungeon journal's loot list (much easier to read and the gear filter is nice) better than AtlasLoot or similar mods. Personally, I'd love being able to use it for my myriad of alts throughout the leveling process to more quickly and efficiently decide where to look for gear upgrades.
