Can you get the keys from crates as a drop, or do they force you to buy it?
If so, imma just delete the boxes, as 2 dollars for a god damn key is too much

You have to buy the keys.
You can try trading the crates though, possibly. Now that they put strange weapons into the game people care a little more about the crates.

Some people (like me) value crates a lot more than others because some crates hold things that you can't get outside of them and 2.50 is worth it. On top of that, you have a very small chance of uncrating an unusual hat (a hat with a special effect on it) Depending on the hat/effect combo, such hats are worth 30-2,000 USD. (Think vanilla epics but a lot more rare.) I have a friend that is knee-deep into trading and just the other day we were talking about a guy who sold all of his backpack to finance the purchase of a BMW.

I got one for Scout:
http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Flipped_Trilby
, but then I traded it for Cosa Nostra, because I didn't like any of my hats on spy. That would be Gibbus, Ellis and Mann Co. Caps.
I would've given a lot for that hat. D: What effect did it have?

I think it said something about shining stars. I honestly cannot remember. But, that was scout hat, I am not big fan of him, too fast for me.
Sunbeams? Because that effect is worth the most by a lot.

I've had a weird problem lately. TF2 shuts down the internet in my house whenever I open it. When I try to connect to a server I get 'server is not responding,' so I close the window and look for another server. I'll join that server, and then I'll start connecting to the server I clicked on several minutes ago which wasn't responding, whether I want to or not. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Hum... A quick google brought up this:
Its a weird glitch that happened to me, and hopefully ts the same thing happening to you.
The moment you bring up the server lists, on the internet tab.. it suddenly starts to refresh EVERY single server up right now at the same time, which is basically overloading your router/modem maybe...
Try manually stopping the refresh as soon as possible and see if the problem persists, and if it does keep happening.... i've done all I can.. sorry.
And also found
this thread
.
They seem to suggest a problem with your router. Whatcha think?

I think I'm not entirely sure what a router is, let alone how to fix it.

Okay! I can point to the specific box which is causing problems. That's a step I suppose. I can poke it and see if that fixes the internet?

Okay! I can point to the specific box which is causing problems. That's a step I suppose.
You need to get to your router configuration page, and to do that you have to type something like
http://192.168.1.1
into your web browser. What specific address you use depends on what brand and model your router is.
This guide will walk you through determining what your router's internal IP address is.
** Now go to that configuration page and use the
default user name and password
unless you have changed it. At that point you'll reach your router's configuration page, and I can't help you any more until I know exactly what it looks like because every one is different. What you'll be looking for in those setting is the option that tells the router to shut down if there are too many incoming connections.
** Type cmd into your start menu and hit enter. Once in command prompt type "ipconfig" without quotes and hit enter. Note down the address marked "Default Gateway" that's the address you will use to get into your router.
I can poke it and see if that fixes the internet?
Poking is 100 times simpler and works almost as much as the more complicated stuff, so you can never go wrong with a good poke or two :)
I'm going to class now, so I hope you can figure it out on your own, but if you need more help I'll be back in a couple hours :)

I've been to that page and checked every tab, but there's nothing about the router shutting itself down when confronted with too many connections.
In other fun news, my video card drivers are from 2009, there are new versions from like last month for my video card but they are apparently incompatible with my video card. I'm not really sure how video drivers work but it seems weird to me that drivers for one card and one card only are incompatible with that card.

I don't know then :(
Have you looked here?
or here?
As far as video drivers are concerned are you sure you're getting the right one, because that makes no sense. If the driver says its for a specific video card then it's for that specific video card. Are you also sure you're getting the correct (x86 or x64) version for your operating system? I'm sorry if anything I suggest sounds simple or obvious, I never know what level of experience people have when they ask questions.

It's 64 bit if that's what you mean. I'm positive I'm downloading the right thing. Maybe I'll find a tech and make him fix it. That would probably be a better idea than severely derailing this thread.
