Let me be entirely blunt with you - wellknowing that the wrath of the paladins will rain upon my honest face, shortly; it IS harder to tank as a warrior. Much harder and MUCH MUCH more rewarding. Especially in the beginning or at low gearlevels(endgame). The prime reason for this, is simply the resource-mechanics of the 2 classes. Warriors start most fights with an empty resourcebar(rage) and thus don't have a lot of abilities available right of the bat(shouts have a 1 min CD and for instances, it wont always be up, before a pull). Paladins, however, use mana and can spam whatever they need in the start of the fight.
But keep going - it will get increasingly easier for you. First major step is "Warbringer", that allows you to actually generate rage in defensive stance with charge(lvl 29 talent).
Before that, your shouts and being punched in the face will have to keep you going on rage. You can somewhat offset the rage-starvation with "glyph of furious sundering" the gem of minor glyphs for lowbietanks, at lvl 25 and "glyph of resonating power" is also a good rage-glyph.
Next step, in making your life less miserable and your taunt-button less worn, is at lvl 39/40. You get 2 key abilities, that you'll instantly come to love: Devastate(simply a better sunder armor-ability) and Revenge. At this point, your ass should be on a winning-streak. At lvl 40 as protwarrior, you go from being a scrub struggling for rage/aggro/health to a freaking beast. You outdps all the loomed up dps' and your healers will love you for being a tough motherĀ¤#%#er. If you made it to lvl 40 and haven't given up, you recieve the bonus for all your tears. From here on, I'm sure you'll never tank on your paladin(or a DK or druid) again, and you will look at your fellow warriortanks, when youre on your healer, with a new and different respect and maybe even give them some pointers, if they suck.
A few pointers:
- Strike and heroic strike share CD. Remove strike from your bar, when you get heroic strike.
- Sunder armor is your spam-ability. Spam it, whenever Shield slam and thunderclap in on CD and you do not have excess rage. Sunder armor produces a good chunk of threat eventho it doesn't produce damage.
- Heroic strike is your rage-dump. Remember this. Heroic strike drains your ragebar REALLY fast. If you don't have a lot of rage, stop using heroic strike and spam sunder armor instead.
- Victory rush is a godsend. Not only is it an awesome heal, its also free and produces rage for you. Use it wisely(I actually don't know if the heal from victory rush produces threat as any other heal do).
- Cleave and heroic strike share CD, but unlike strike, both cleave and heroic strike belong on your actionbars(much like crusader strike and hammer of the righteous for paladins). If there's need for using cleave - meaning more than 2 mobs - rage shouldn't be an issue.
- Spec into rage- or threat-talents. Incite, Blood and thunder, Shield specialization, Hold the line... you get the idea.
- Don't give up!
Long story short: When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Good luck on your warrior!

One thing you may want to do if your healer isn't having any mana issues in the dungeon is to minimize downtime between pulls. You will keep your rage up and have plenty of resources to start the pull with. Also it will give you a lead on generating threat as the dps are trying to catch up to you. EZ throw dynamite is also quite nice and the other bombs are great too if you go into engineering.
Warrior is counter intuitive for a healer. I found this myself as a healer. Paladin initially compliments our play style very nicely. Prepared and full resources at the start of the pull with an ability to heal ourselves readily. I've found that warrior tanking definitely has its rewards if you see it through.
Stick with it
. The later abilities and talents are WORTH the wait. Paladins get basically all their tanking abilities by level 50 but warriors keep evolving from there.
