Hey All
I'm Alliance and have one lvl 85 Human Warrior I spend most all my time on. I've made alts for fun
but never seriously leveled them.
I figured I'd try Horde and started an Orc Warlock and got way into it. I could tell i was going to spend time on this character so naively I logged onto my Alliance main character and thought I'd mail some gold and gear to the new character as I've done before but ...
ahh right you can't do that.
Any work around? Is there a way to send stuff to alts in another fraction I don't know about?
Any help advice would be appreciated, thx

Use the neutral ah and a friend. If your friend is horde, have him put up a piece of junk for however much gold you want to transfer over (keeping in mind the large neutral ah cut), then buy it with your alliance character and have him give your hordie the gold. If your friend in alliance give him the money with your alliance character then put up a piece of junk on the neutral ah for however much you want with your hordie and have your alliance friend buy it with the money you gave him.

Why do you need a Friend for that?
Why not list Junk from the Orc on the Neutral AH for lots of G, and buy it with the Alliance toon?
Needless to say, doing it through the Neutral AH will cost you the AH cut.
Cheers.

You can't purchase your own auctions on the Neutral AH.

Your own? Meaning same account? OK, didn't know that.

Yeah Blizz was atleast intelligent enough to see how badly that could be abused. That's also why they made the neutral AH take a what...15% cut of the sale? It's more effective for you to have a good friend on the Horde side sit at the AH, then you send over epic gems/BoE epics that are worth whatever it is you want to send to your other toon. This way the neutral AH cut = ~0g, and you get the full value of the items. This of course is dependent on the other factions economy(if you are buying off of Alliance AH to sell on Horde.) This of course isn't an issue if you are using alternate currency for the items.
I used to use this process to move 10s of thousands of gold from side to side. Just try to do it at slightly less busy hours. There are people that sit at the neutral AHs waiting for transfers to happen like this.

I think the answer to the OP question is "no," there is no way without circumventing the the intention of the game mechanics to do this. There's also really no need.
Um, what? The answer is Yes, as long as you have a friend on the Horde side of the server to grab the auctions for him.

Actually, one could argue that people are using the intended game mechanics. Blizzard doesn't want people to move gear and gold over EASILY, but it's still possible, but at the same time, risky, stopping many people from doing it.

I said no way
without circumventing the intention of the game mechanics
. If the developers wanted players to do this why wouldn't they just make it easy by allowing people to transfer their stuff between characters? If I need a real-life confederate who has a character on the opposing faction (whom I can't communicate with in the game) to cooperate with me to pull this off that indicates to me it isn't intended to be done.
Possible? Yes. Intended? No.
What? You have a friend on Horde side, you have him on RealID so you can say 'Hey, I'm about to put this stuff up on the AH, please grab it for me so I can give it to my alt', he does so, boom. It's not a circumvention of the rules, since the Neutral AH, which has allowed Alliance to sell things to Horde, has been there since almost the beginning of WoW.

There you go; and before you start in on about the Blue comments, they are referring to losing the items you put up for auction for a low price to make it easier to transfer the materials over; if it get's sniped, you are out of luck.
