Bring some more friends? Just an idea.
That's probably gonna be the easiest solution.

Since you died from fall damage, might I suggest quickly switching to cat form when you fall (because of
Feline Grace
). It's what made me capable of soloing the bug trio in AQ40.

Can't see either reforging tactic being exceptionally ground breaking. I would try stay near him so that in the case I got thrown airborne as gravity lapse ends you can try save face with a feral charge. From my own personal experiences of trying to duo kael he is pretty mean though.
Only other thing I can think of is since phase 4 / 5 are primarily magic damage which your mastery does nothing for you in find a way to pick up the 20% healing increase in cat form and sit in cat form for the last phases of the fight.

I didn't get a chance to do Kael in TK, so I can't be 100% sure that this idea will work.
In Magister's Terrace, supposedly Kael had all the abilities of raid Kael, just scaled down. If that IS the case, he would only throw you up during Gravity Lapse if you were on/very near the ground during it. You could try intentionally hovering at/near his head but still in melee range, and that may completely negate his tossing you up if it behaves the same.

I don't see what else you will lose by going cat over bear aside from 18% damage reduction (which you can still jump back into bear to eat a pyro and then jump back to cat). In addition you would gain your bleeds ticking away which pump out some fairly decent damage.
Either way I haven't tried old kael in a while and it is a pain fight good luck with it.

Also changing to cat form won't do it, cause I'll lose my stacks of vengeance + I'll take more damage (not in bear form for a fireball + losing some of my savage defense shield)
lose your stacks of vengeance, boohoooooo. And I doubt shifting to cat form for a second or 2 will make you take a monstrous amount of damage (then again I'm not entirely sure what stuff will be hitting you while you're falling since I never did the fight without the help of 20 others ...)

Concerning reading stuff before doing it, I took the liberty of checking your armory. I'm wondering what Glyph of Rip and Glyph of Barkskin are doing in there. Ofc it's perfectly fine if you PvP in the same spec. However, you reforge mastery on items with crit/mastery. That's just plain wrong. And any tanking guide should tell you that.

Firstly by your leader of the pack heals. which unfortunately is healing you 20% less because you ignorantly dont spec into Nurturing Instinct
ok foley, this argument is moot. It's his feral
tanking
spec, meaning nurturing instinct is absolutely worthless. And respeccing just for old boss farming is pretty meh.

I am obnoxiously amused by your Dr. Cox-like attitude.
