No more XP from Outland mobs once you hit 70?

Title says it all. I hit 70 yesterday on my mage after completing all quests in Terrokar.
I get full quest XP but only around 50XP per mob killed now. It was roughly 500XP per mob killed at level 69. The mobs are still green to me!
Please enlighten me.... :-)
Thanks!

Means you should head to Northrend.

The plan was to level all the way through Outland (for loremaster achievement and simply fun).
It's just a small setback in fact. I'm just curious whether it's intended and WHY.
(Why on earth are they trying to force me to go to Northrend. I hate it. Pure Boredom.)

had to search for a while and found this on the forums:
We recently made a change to the way experience is calculated and wanted to take some time to explain this change in order to clear up some confusion some may be having in regard to their rate of progress. If you are currently at the maximum level that you can be for an expansion (or higher), killing creatures from that expansion will now grant 10% of normal experience.
Examples:
Level 60 or higher players get 10% normal experience for killing creatures in Azeroth (“Old world” content)
Level 70 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Burning Crusade creatures.
Level 80 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Lich King creatures.
Level 85 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Cataclysm creatures.
What does this mean for those that have Cataclysm and are leveling up new characters? This means that you will gain normal experience through to level 60 and will then need to move on to The Burning Crusade zones until you reach level 70 and Wrath of the Lich King zones until you reach level 80. Once you reach 80, it is expected that you will be continuing your leveling adventures in the new Cataclysm zones and dungeons. We have made this change so that players will continue to progress through the appropriate content for their level versus grinding on quick re spawns in a less ideal location.
so ... working as intended

Alright, puzzle solved. Thank you!
(I hate the change. Let the player decide!)

It does seem an odd thing to have implemented. The game is so chock full of lore and intertwining stories that to experience it to its fullest you must "do" the story from beginning to end.
The intention from Blizzard seems to be to ram us through to level cap as soon as possible, story be damned, and regardless of the fact that not all of us aspire to
climb onto the Gear Hamster Wheel and remain there
raid.
I can certainly see the wisdom in providing means to level faster, if desired, such as xp from mining, herbalism, archaeology, fishing/cooking dailies available at level 10, 4 (5 for the lucky few) pieces of heirloom gear, and guild level bonuses to xp gains. What I can't understand is intentionally hobbling those players who want to experience lore, and practice immersion.
On a couple of my toons, I've said 'Blizzard be damned', and I'm doing all the quests in order before moving on. Green quests still give full xp anyway, and I can make up the lost mob xp by gathering or doing the city dailies.

That's so true!
I felt so relieved when I put aside the urge to go for Northrend. I really enjoy doing outland quests (I never did the Shadowmoon Valley and Netherstorm quests, even back then without heirlom gear and guild perks you dinged 70 in Blade's Edge at the latest) and the past two levels from 68 to 70 were a breeze, doing quests for lore (uh, yes, I'm actually reading quest texts!) and simply fun.
My original intent was trying to hit 80 in Outland. Not sure whether I can achieve that now - I'll see how far only quest xp will take me.
Anyways.. "The journey is the reward!" :-)

It happened even before the throttling came into effect; the highest I ever got a toon, doing a full grind of the zones and the out of instance reps, was 75. You still get semi-good exp for turning in the quests, so keep working on the Loremaster there; because if you are going after Loremaster, the exp itself shouldn't matter.

I got my warrior to 72 after grinding out every outland quest I could find post-cata. I then went back and began grinding the new Azeroth like crazy...
Got to 76. Luckily, at that point I only had to do Dragonblight for the final stretch to 80.
And then I found out that, except for Uldum, the Cata zones are just as bad as Northerend...

I hit 75 pre-Cata in Outland.

But that was before the exp nerf.
I also entered Outland at 58. Might have effected it.
