A remake of Evgeni22's topic
The Supernatural
, now with 100% more poll! There's already several pages of comments in the previous thread, but if you want to (re)state why you do or do not believe in the supernatural (aliens excluded), leave your comments below!

Can I ask how you're defining a 'believable' supernatural entity? After all, YMMV if ghosts are believable. :P

Which one fits believing in supernatural forces but not having a real opinion on specific things like ghosts and such? =/

where is the "I want to believe" option?

I believe in most but some are too crazy to exist. Just strike out most and replace it with some. Can I ask how you're defining a 'believable' supernatural entity? After all, YMMV if ghosts are believable. :P
Ghosts are more believable than invisible elves and the like? YMMV on all of this ofc, but I'm fairly sure most would agree that there are some supernatural entities that are more believable than others.
E: ... damn you Archangel. Now I need to add that in >.> *plays X-files theme music*

I picked "
I have no way of knowing whether there are supernatural entities
" because I think "to believe" or "to disbelieve" are both equally erroneous when there is literally zero reproducible evidence in either direction. If this wouldn't have been a choice, I would have picked "
I do not believe in any supernatural entities
" because I tend to err on the side of my own experience, and I've never seen a ghost, but I've seen lots of absence-of-ghosts (same for other supernatural phenomena).

I really don't get people like that...
If you want to believe, it means you don't believe. It is like reading a book and wishing it was true, but knowing it isn't.
Basically, your mindset is "They probably don't exsist, but I wish they did." Correct?

It's a joke from the X-Files =P

As long as they all don't look like Cate Blanchett, then I'm totally rooting for the elves too! =P

I know someone who legitimately believed that Unicorns had once existed and died out, she was like twenty-three. She found out when she was seventeen after mentioning it as an expression at a party (like "the way of the dodo bird"). She didn't believe in magic, just that there was once a species of horses with a horn. I mean, nobody ever told her otherwise, and it was just a horse with a horn. I can totally see how that's believable. Much more believable than Ghosts.

That's a very good point, actually. I never thought of it like that. :P

Wouldn't that be natural (vice supernatural) ? If she believed in the horned horse, but not the magic, I don't think that fits the supernatural definition.

Ghosts are just left over energies from your moment of death; constantly repeating your final thoughts and actions until they dissipate...
Much more believable than an unrecorded, widespread, species of horse that had randomely evolved a horn...

Well, it's not natural yet either - as there's no definitive evidence that I know of, of a species of something similar to horses with a horn.

I would say quite the opposite.

Why do you talk about your belief like it's fact?
Because to me it is.
I have spent time researching things until I come to a conclusion. Mostly because I just can't "have faith" in something.

How do you research ghost energies?
