With the changes announced for 4.3 (transmogrifier and void storage in particular) combined with the fact thatthere are many of us who have no clue what the old tier sets look like (only been playing for 1 year) it occurred to me that a great idea for a Guide would be one that details all the old sets that are currently available and where/how to get them, including screenies.
Just an idea.

With 4.3 actually using this, you can bet we'll do it ;)

For all classes?

For all classes?
Yeah, it's easy to do that. I am sure more guides will have more exact outfits, whereas we'll just cover the visual look of all tier.

Working on that right now--this week's will cover tier looks and acquisition, while next week's guide will be on some of the look-alike items (warlocks in priest t6, rogues as druids) and unique gear from instances. So excited I can wear my Cursed Vision everywhere!

The item sets don't really explain how to farm it all up, which I'm covering in my first guide. But that link has definitely been helpful when writing up my guide.
In the second guide, I'm covering stuff like cool instance drops, look-alike tier, special models for each weapon type, etc. A lot more flexibility beyond tier stuff (and imo, more fun to write).

I understand what the first guide is, a guide to item sets, where to get them, and such. However, I fail to understand what you say about the second guide. What about look-alike tier gear and specific models for weapons do you plan to highlight? Just the fact that they're there? I'm interested to see the guide when it releases but am not quite sure on what is going to be released.

Some people were bummed that they couldn't be a DK running around disguised as a priest in cloth. But there's still some leeway--warriors can look like holy paladins with t10 offset items, warlocks can mimic priests with t6 offset---which would be fun to cover, especially for newer players. It's not something that you can easily look up in Wowhead's database, but I'm putting together some item lists so players know where to farm what.
As for the specific weapon models, as you're locked into using weapons that match your specific type for combat, players can't just grab their favorite weapon, or in some cases, use their legendaries. So I'm planning to highlight a handful of interesting items for each weapon type--what does an assassination rogue use when all they have are awesome swords? (aka, my issue) Maybe there's a fun caster-sword model a warrior would use for tanking. The brown version of the Eye of Sulfuras is starting to look pretty good for a status symbol. Or a new druid would be thrilled to learn there's a flowering staff in Hyjal that matches tier 5 and 6.
The first guide is essentially quite rigid, outlining acquisition methods and class-only tier sets. The second guide hopefully will inspire players to be a little creative, put together their own outfits, and have some fun.(##RESPBREAK##)140##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

Great collection of non-tier armor sets.

Thanks for the info--I had something different in mind when I was talking about 'look-alike tier,' but after looking at your link, those types of green sets are worth referencing for interested players that want a simple look (and some of the plate greens are quite ornate--I've saved a few on my DK). I wasn't looking for sets that shared the same name, but random drops (with unrelated names) that together formed a reskinned version of class-only tier.
As a brief example:
Garments of Temperance
,
Amice of Brilliant Light
,
Cowl of Benevolence
looks like a white reskin of priest t6. However, mages and warlocks can now reskin this set for fun. I can't as a rogue, but I have it saved my bags just because it's awesome :)(##RESPBREAK##)140##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##
