Move and/or resize map?

Greetings,
I would like to move and slightly resize the map (not the tiny map that shift-m brings up, but the one that m brings up). The normal UI allows me to change the opacity but nothing else - and in MoveAnything I cannot find that particular window (tried various ways).
If anyone could point me to a solution (preferably not an addon that entirely replaces the map) it would be appreciated.

Up in the upper left of MoveAnything, one of the check boxes allows you to find out what an element of the UI is called when you mouseover it.
My only problem with MoveAnything is that it removes the whole "Close this window if this window is open", and instead allows things to stack up on top of each other... (unrelated to the topic at hand of course)

Thanks for the answer. I have tried that actually but the name I am given isnt in MoveAnything and I cannot make it work using the slash command either. Have you tried and made it work in game?

personally, i use carbonite for my map. Yes, i know it's a bit heavy on resources but i have resources to spare. I keep pretty much everything turned off but i use it for the map. You can resize/reposition it to your hearts desire.

Doesn't seem to be supported by MoveAnything at the moment...
After getting the name of the map frame (WorldMapFrame), and use the slash command to toggle a frame editor on it (/mafe WorldMapFrame), I got the following little message: "MoveAnything > Unsupported".

Try Mapster.

Thanks for the replies.
I really have to wonder why Blizzard has not coded in something as simply as the ability to move and resize UI components as standard. Maybe someone has a link to a dev answering why that is so?

/run WorldMapFrame:RegisterForDrag("LeftButton") WorldMapFrame:SetScript("OnMouseDown",function(self) self:StartMoving() end) WorldMapFrame:SetScript("OnMouseUp",function(self) self:StopMovingOrSizing() end)
This will make the map movable if you drag it by the bottom area. You also have to run this every time you login, unless you make it a simple addon :)

I believe if you right click the top bar on the map, you are given the option to unlock + move the smaller map around (the "small" large map, not the tiny shift-M map).

Thank you for the reply. Did you test that in game because it does not work for me. The command does not give any error but the world map wont move no matter where on it I mouse down to drag it.

Thank you for the reply. Could you test that in game though because it does not appear that way for me. As posted above right clicking only lets me change the opacity - not unlock the window.

Yup, and I also found out what you need to do to access the feature.
Interface > Objectives > Movable World Map.
Then, simply right click it and it should have two options, Lock Window & Change Opacity.

You are my hero - thank you! I best go look through all interface options to see what else I am ignorant off.

My Interface does not have an "Objectives" option. I wonder if your instructions are when using an add-on?
I have always had my Work/Quest map that comes up by clicking the M button movable, could change the opacity but have never been able to re-size it and I always accessed those options thru clicking the top margin of the map - until Legion. That action has been removed.
I certainly hope this is a temporary thing and it will be available again.
