Noob Druid Question

Is there no time that a feral druid should use cloth to get the int boost? I understand that being able to use leather is best reason to do it but was wondering if I should keep a cloth set and a leather set or just go leather.

Armor mastery grants 5% int.
which is 200-250 int at current gear levels.

Hmm, I should've put more emphasis on the noob part. That's me. I played WoW as a Hunter up to lvl 30 in '06 and that is the extent of my knowledge of the game. Other than that I have recently leveled Rogue, Druid, and Hunter to 20 ish trying to decide which I like more. Any chance you could explain armor mastery a little?

if you aren't lvl 50 yet that wouldn't apply

Btw, you dont want int if you are feral, you want agility. If you are resto or boomy then you could. But once you hit lvl 50 you WANT to be in all leather gear for the armor mastery

Cool, thanks. I gathered that I should go leather agi+ mainly but wasn't sure if I should worry about int at all since I am still a caster somewhat. I've been gearing up like my Rogue, Fang armor and agi rings and such.

having a separate set for healing is nice, the lower level dungeons are pretty much a joke at this point with the number of people running around in heirloom gear.
Also, leather appears to get a slightly higher itemization (has more stats on it) on two equivalent item level pieces.

Again, thanks!
I asked my initial question in a group in Blackfathom and got kicked from the group for being noob... I'm glad someone was willing to answer my question and not leave me with unfinished Dungeon quests, hahaha.

Go for as much agi as you can, but also get abit of stam so you don't die.
Stam is on everything though.
Armor, and the related Feral Talents (Thick Hide and the like) would make a difference though.
And I can throttle back my Foley-side for newbs.
I do like to draw the distinction:
Newb: Wet behind the ears. Blind to the world of knowledge, but willing to learn. Must be cultivated carefully. Taught, bestowed with the wisdom of elder's experience.
Noob: They can DIAF for all I care.
Example: 11 year old that picks up CoD, and proceeds to string together expletives (while they can sometimes be quite creative) ultimately lead them to wishing you could punch out the voice box as a perm-a-mute, and they being a severe detriment to the team (saw one go 1-20 in TDM. Lobby at the start of the match had him goin' "oh im a beast etc etc")

I beg to differ

Glad to see very useful responses. Feral Druid is fun as can be so far. I love being able to take over when tanks or heals aren't doing well, makes the random dungeon finder much less annoying. Still prefer the dps aspect (duh, I'm Feral), it's like a rogue on crack. Why can't Rogue energy regen that fast? Lol.

Pffft, old shaman set
And did shamans really combine Agi and Int that much back in the day? lol
Hm maybe hunters too, not class restricted

Up until the end of BC Feral gear had Str, Agi, Stam AND Int... and possibly a secondary stat here or there. There was even more then a few Vanilla pieces that had all 5 primaries.

back in the day there was no enh shaman sets...so they all wore hunter items. Which had agi/int/stam.
and then there was a very brief time....and i repeat it was very brief. Where hunters wore spellpower items...
