Best Equipment for Trial Account User
Return to board index
Post by
http
I have a trial account and don't plan to upgrade to a full paid account soon. Trial accounts cannot use AH, have a 10g cap, a level 20 cap, no interaction with other users, no Blizzard forums, no mail, etc.
I'm Alliance, Dwarf Hunter in Sporeggar, but this is more a generic question.
What is the "best" equipment I (or any other trial user) could get?
I think the 12 slot bag "Huge Brown Bag" for 9g should be the biggest I can get, right?
For the ranged weapon, I'm not sure what's best. Currently I have a 15.2dps bow, but I just accepted a quest that has a reward of a ~25dps weapon. (Can't find the quest anymore though.)
I have 43 armour Marblebeard's Shrug, 35 armour Heavy Runed Cloak, 91 armour Night Watch Vest, 40 armour Scouting Bracers of Stamina, 59 Astronomer's Handwraps, 55 Forest Leather Belt, 77 Waterproof Leggings, 50 Tanned Leather Boots. No rings, amulet, helmet, jacket (or whatever that is) yet. Melee weapon is Long Staff (15.2dps).
I'd like to maximize all equipment directly (max. armour, dps, bagsize). What would be the items I want?
I probably can't use enchanting, engineering, etc., so I'd have to buy each item for 10g or less - or complete a quest that can be done by a level 20.

Oooh boy, this is gonna be hard to explain.
The items you currently have are mostly trivial. Any items you get will be replaced eventually while leveling. There's really not much point in 'getting the most' out of a trial account because as soon as you upgrade to full you'll get new and improved gear. So the best thing you can do, is read up on what statistical priorities your Class has, and then just focus on that.
If you press she Shift button while hovering over an item you can compare the two. For weapons, it'd be more useful if you could deduce for yourself which is superior. So I'll try to help you out, first of all, look at the Weapon Damage per second (DPS). if it's higher, it's most likely better. Also, as a Hunter you want Agility on your gear. Agility > all.
These are the basics I guess.
If you are having trouble completing quests - I recommend a leveling addon. Personally I use Zygor, but I'm sure someone here can recommend a better addon. You could check out
Cruse.com
for WoW addons.
Also, in
this thread
you can ask any question without fear. The pro Hunters will be happy to help you where I cannot.
Good luck and hang in there! Don't worry if you feel overwhelmed with information or questions, we can help.

That thread may help a lot

Thanks for your reply. But I think you didn't read my question. I don't want to level up ever. I'll remain with my trial account and asked for specific items to equip.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately no items listed there either.
Edit: The link to twinkinfo seems helpful. A lot to read...

Ok, in case anybody else needs this, here are some links, including some for equipment, that might be useful.

(I don't know how to add external links. But they should be allowed, as they are also in the guides on here. So just remove the space and make a link out of it.)
UPDATE: I now have rights to add external links. Links now clickable.

Please don't post so many times consecutively. In addition, try not to break links like that because they seem awfully suspicious. I know links get blocked for new users and all...but >_<.
On another note I may create a profiler for you with the best possible gear. Maybe...

Hi
Interest
. Sorry if I did anything wrong. Between each post there was one day delay or so. Otherwise I updated the post itself. Was that not ok?
I'll replace the links as soon as I get the rights for that. Actually my wowhead account from three years ago was not valid anymore (probably because not used).
To
zdouse
and
Baalah
: 10g is the limit, so I could buy it myself. But that bag is not for sale anywhere and I cannot trade (neither AH, nor with another player), so that's not an option.
Update regarding bags:
A
Huge Brown Sack
, 12 slots, can be bought for 9g at
Livingston Marshal
. I think that's the biggest bag to buy.
There are some unique 16 slot bags. Unique means you can have only one of them. But there are several of them. To buy them (around 3g only) you need to be
Revered
to the respective zone. Bags:
Ironforge Satchel
,
Gnomeregan Satchel
,
Stormwind Satchel
,
Darnassian Satchel
and
Gilnean Satchel
(all for Alliance), or similar ones for the Hordes.
UPDATE:
Revered
is quite a low reputation level. It is NOT the minimum required level, but exactly. So being
Honored
or
Friendly
(both higher), you cannot buy these bags anymore.

Except you can't trade on trial accounts zdouse.
Are you sure? Is that a new restriction because I could have sworn I traded on my trail account.
Maybe you can not trade but can receive trades?
You cannot trade at all. No AH access, no direct P2P trading. I don't think that's new.
