I like this but
WHERE ARE THE FEMALE PANDARENS!
I absolutely hate it. I hate everything about Pandarens and Pandaria. And, being that they will be a race for both sides, there will be no way to avoid seeing them everywhere.
Oh, also NEUTRAL RACE! The one thing I have always facepalmed and foamed at the mouth about, and here it is in game!
Wow dude, calm down.

What more can one ask for? Good question.
I ask that Blizzard don't give in to the fanboys. I ask that Blizzard innovate. I ask that Blizzard surprises and impresses me.
How many topics about the Pandaren and monks have we seen? For two, or more, years people have been talking about pandas and monks in WoW. Yes, Blizzard did surprise me, by not finding something new and unexpected.
I'm already bored by an expansion that's only just been announced.

I like most of the changes, especially how I don't need to farm same old heroics if I want to actually do something useful at end level. I can do challenges, pet battles or the valor rewarding quests that were mentioned.
Pandas will be weird, but at least it's not 'omg we're already Dooooomed' story for a change. Little humor and levity comes in nicely in a game (reason I use Comix addon).
Edit:
Yes, Blizzard did surprise me, by not finding something new and unexpected.
They did that with Draenei in BC, and I haven't heard one good opinion on that.

.
They haven't made the female models yet, hence why all the ones in the trailer were male.
Edit:

It's okay but I have an issue with some thing(s)
because "i dunno until i've seen the actual thing" wasn't there.
I'm someone who often dislikes upcoming changes, but once they're implemented its ok or good even...
So i'm reluctant to judge a book by its cover.

I quit well before this expansion was even a rumor. I didn't care about it then, and I still don't really care about it now. So if their goal was to attract back players who have stopped playing, it didn't work very well in my case.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on it as well.
If
(and it's a pretty big 'if') in the future I'm returning, it won't be for a free Diablo copy (spending ~£120 for a ~£40 game when I've not played the other two?), or for an angel-horse-whatever-the-!@#$-it-is mount, for monks or for pandaren.

I'm very confused rather than hate it, but I still have a lot of negative thoughts about it and almost no positive ones. For me, WoW died at the end of WotLK. I think Blizz is keeping the money rather than using it. I now don't regret quitting WoW in august.

I personally like the idea. I think the pet battles part will be awesome, even if it lacking features. Finally gives me something to do with the non-combat pets.
My only issue is with the new talent tree and how it will work. They said it was to take out the "cookie-cutter" trees but if you are getting the same specialization for every Resto Druid, and only have 3 talents per 15 levels to choose from, I see it as being even more of a "cookie-cutter" model.

Kind of a copy/paste from my post in the main MoP thread. Opted for the 'I like it but' option, namely just because I'm not overly impressed with Pandaren being the new race...not because I have a problem with it on any lore level though, but just because playing as a panda doesn't really appeal to how I feel about
War
craft.
Looks like a lot of interesting stuff coming up though;
talent tree overhaul is overdue. It was okay in vanilla (by okay, I mean the concept was sound, even if various talents and gear/stat budgeting were not), was probably at its healthiest in BC, still working but started getting out of control in Wotlk, and is pretty much a bloated pile of cookie-cutter now in cata. Which is unavoidable; as gear-related stat budgets go up and up and the numbers just get bigger and bigger, things were bound to outgrow the very static tree system. Completely redesigning the talent concept is at least one expansion overdue, and I'm glad they're doing it. Of course we have to hope they do it well, and that the concept doesn't go the way of the Path of the Titans, but from the look of things they've had a pretty good idea of how they wanted it to work for quite a while. I'd wager they've probably been tweaking this behind closed doors before Cata was released, and I expected to see something change after they recently did the class surveys asking players to explain how they felt about their classes in detail.
I am hopeful to see competitive PvP (and most gameplay in general) become less of a zergfest, and the potential for that (and many exciting other changes) seem to be on the horizon.
Another issue finally being addressed appears to be, for lack of a better word, the 'fun factor' of the game. As it stands there just really isn't a whole hell of a lot to do in cata, even if you are a dedicated raider. Things were far too linear and repetitive this expansion; they were fun the first time when they were new and you were oohing and aahing, but after that it quickly becomes a bore to do it again, and again, and again. It seems this next expansion will be looking at providing more things to do other than grind the same spoon-fed daily and otherwise grind/farm until your queue pops or it's raid time, and while I'm not a huge fan of vanity pets in general, the whole pokemon/monster rancher thing going on is just one of several gameplay-related changes that seem to be putting more 'stuff to do for fun' out there.
More persistent and meaningful world pvp is something I've missed also, and it seems we might see a lot more of it in MoP since the focus seems to be shifting towards faction versus faction rather than a merely set back Lolthas or Doomfoot trying to blow up the world .
The premise behind the monk class seems to be one of strategy and timing, given the class has no autoattacks therefore proc reliance and white damage will not be part of the picture. I'm interested to see how Monks feel in the endgame, but concerned that the lack of autoattacks will be too difficult for Blizzard to implement, in the sense that because there's no white damage their hits are very powerful, then deemed too powerful and nerfed, then re-worked and buffed, then nerfed again, much like DKs upon Wotlk launch...all this going on while we're also seeing how the new talent system works and re-learning our classes as Blizzard makes
inevitable adjustments. Imho such a tactical and precise class (this is how I feel the Monk will need to be played given lack of white hits) may suffer a bit, or a lot, not just from its own mechanics but as it finds its place within what will be a completely overhauled talent system. Although I'm also willing to admit I'm just a gamer and the devs probably have a lot more info than I. ^_^
That said though, we've only just learned about this yesterday and I have confidence that by the time it rolls out it will 'work' even if the final product isn't what we're looking at now. I just hope to avoid badly implemented balance attempts, and keeping my fingers crossed that some of the more....strange directions the dev team has occasionally taken in the past don't rear their heads here and doom it.

I like it and here are the reasons:
1 - I'm happy to have the chance to play once again as a pandaren warrior. I liked it at WC3 and i'm sure it will be much better now.
2 - Monk class was something nearly everyone wanted, for good reason. I mean how often do you have the chance to ^&*!@ slap someone online?
3 - Cataclysm has the most dynamic pve system, you don't just rely on tanks to do good and save the group; everyone, including the dps, has jobs so everyone is contributing for the success of the group. So if they can keep this logic up Mists of Pandaria will be awesome.
4 - Last but not least, if all the whiny kids quit playing ("oh cata sucks, this will suck worse" "pve is boring" "pvp is crap, i'm imba but i get pwned nevertheless") when the new expansion comes; we might get back that "mature community" again.

TBH, i was hoping for the emerald dream. and another 5 levels before cap leads me to believe that this content will be rushed through just as bad as cataclysm. Im not thrilled about the Panda race, nor the thought of a bajillion pandaran monks named Po that are bound to show up. I know that the pandaran have been in the lore for years, but lets face it. Kung fu panda is more recent. Pet battles sounds too much like Pokemon. back to the panda race, i would have much prefered Naga as a race, or even the burning legion as a 3rd faction.

I don't really like the whole pandaren's concept but I'll withhold saying it's going to suck out loud till I can actually play it on the PTR at least.
I'm guessing you mean Beta (assuming you annual passed your way in) =DWell the betas are basically the PTR so whatever.
not quite :P because the PTR stands for PUBLIC test realm, and the beta is sadly not public.
Furthermore, i cant do that annual pass thingie even when I want to, because of several reasons (living in a third world dump would be the number 1) and I'm guessing that they will get enough testers via the annual pass thing, and wont actually select at random anymore.
so my 1/11000000th chance to being chosen has just become a 0% chance, if u want to get in the beta, then pay up.
sad U_U

I think it sounds pretty stupid, but that's just me. I hate how they're revamping talents and classes again. I really like the look of the zones and music (big fan of Zen music), but I think the Pandaren are really, really stupid. I didn't think the monk class would be based on kung fu either, so I think that's pretty dumb too. Honestly I think this is just the catalyst I need to move on to ToR and GW 2.

whoa, so much negative energy........
time to state my impressions of the game....
Pandaria in general
: I gotta admit I'm a HUGE fan of Chinese mythology, heck, journey to the west, and romance of the three kingdoms are among my favorite books of all time and hold a special place on my library, so you must understand why I am VERY pleased to have an expansion based on asian settings, and hopefully, they'll show the same level of research and polishing they did in WOTLK when they implemented the vrykul with a FANTASTIC well done reference to norse mythology.
so yes, azeroth is a multi-cultural world, having just a western european architecture feel and mythology is boring, after all, in the forgotten realms setting (the main setting for Dungeons and Dragons, father of RPGs) you saw arabian cultures, asian cultures, european cultures, african cultures, ect)
that cultural diversity is already present in wow, with several cultures making an apereance but no chinese culture overall =(
I just hope they actually do their research this time, and bring the same attention to detail they displayed in WOTLK, because frankly, I was UTTERLY disapointed in uldum, I was expecting a zone equal or better than storm peaks, full of titan lore mixed with traditional egiptian mythology. What I found however, was a very CRAPPY zone, with a storyline that was nothing more than an indiana jones ripoff, a music that made my ears bleed, a completely flat storyline that made no sense and didnt fit ANYWHERE with the major chain of events in cata, and no nice shot outs or references to arabian culture, lore, or mythos AT ALL.
I'm hoping they learned their lesson and DO NOT make the same mistakes on pandaria, making it a thin-veiled copy of
Pandaren
: I have no idea why are people freaking out so much about this, azeroth is a world inhabited by just about every human+animal hybrid imaginable, and if we could endure the wolvar (which are RACCOON humanoids) we can do the same for pandarens. I'm too much enamored of blood elves in general to make any other race my main, depending on how the animations for moving and fighting are for pandarens I may or may not keep one (I'll obviously create one to see their starting zone, but wheter or not I delete it depends on that, the animations, I know I deleted my goblin and worgen toons after finishing their zones because I didn't liked their animations enough)
Talents
: Ok this one made me frown a little, I can't see the logic behind their reasoning, they want to remove cookie cutter builds.......... by having every player choose 6 out of 18 talents? the top DK on my guild already established the "prime" build for frost and unholy DKs based on what we've been shown, and this change will only make it MORE cookie-cutter based.
As someone else said, its near imposible to avoid cookie-cutter builds without making all the specs feel identical, because someone will always theorycraft that X spec is better, and once the top raiders see the performance of that someone on "Worldoflogs" they'll go all like "OMG look at that nasty DPS, if we wanna be like him, we must use his talents, and anyone who doesn't is a blind idiot"
so yhea, this change is stupid IMO. (I did liked some of the new talents though, Remorseless Winter looks ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, is a shame that its unlikely to go live as it was shown =( looks too powerful and perfect to be true, and I?m betting it will either be scraped, or changed severely before going live)
Pet Battles
: Hey having mini-games is NEVER a bad thing, unless said mini-games become mandatorial due to game-changing rewards. How many times have we seen the legion of people outside orgrimmar and stormwind dueling each other because they have nothing better to do? or just sitting idly near the AH waiting for the queue to pop? we need some mini-games to kill some time in the game. 4.3 will give us plenty on the revamped darkmoon faire, but that's only 1 week per month, the other 3 weeks we need something more.
Pet battles are a very interesting solution, and can make pet-collection actually desirable, I for one being a hopeless collector already have plenty of pets already (about 70ish) and I'm happy to put them to use. I only hope that the more "unique" pets dont have any advantage versus the more generic pets. Like players with the murkablo pet, or lil'deathwing pet owning players using their silly snake pets, or mechanical rabbit pets.
this is one feature I hope wont go the way of path of the titans and be scraped, and we KNOW that out of everything they announced, its very likely that 30% of it wont see the light of day, just look at all the stuff they removed from cata before it went live (guild talents, path of the titans, the former incarnation of archeology)
Challenge-mode Dungeons
: I've never been one to want bragging rights and e-peen show-offs, this is why I'm not interested in heroic mode raids, world firsts, realm firsts, or having all my gear slots with heroic gear of the most current tier. Having said that, I also know that a large enough segment of the playerbase DOES care about these things, to be able to show-off to others how L33T they are, and how impressive their skills are, and so, I'm glad they are getting this little treat.
The rewards seem kinda weak though, stat-less gear for transmog? yeah, blizz better add more incentives to these challenge mode runs if they want people to actually give a damn.
PVE Scenarios
: now THIS is something I like.
I loved the quests (for both alliance and horde) on the stonetalon mountains, and south barrens, that feeling of pure open cruel savage war on both sides, sure, some may say that killing NPCs isn't fun, but for me it is, so having a PVE version of a BG is pure win.
The one example they gave already gave me the chills, kill 50 units of the oposite faction, destroy 3 of their barracks and towers, and slay the enemy general, =) sounds fun, to make it better, they give JP, and to make it even better, they dont require tanks or healers, making queues VERY fast.
what could there be to NOT like about this?
Daily quests that give VP
: THANK GOD!, I dont like grinding dungeons, its tiresome, I'm a much better quester than dungeon-crawler, I can easily grind 25 dailies every day of the week without getting tired or bored, (Specially when the dailies are fun like the dragonmaw/wildhammer ones) being able to cap my VP weekly without having to touch a heroic or raid is like a god-sent blessing for me.
And for those whiners who say "Blizz is catering to casuals" I'll have you know that you can cap weekly at 1000 VP by doing just 2 raids, or you can cap at 1000 VP weekly by doing 7 heroics, or you can cap at 900 VP weekly by doing ALL the VP dailies every day for 7 days.
so the choise comes down to slow but easy, or fast and hard.
candy for both sides =)
these sum up my current opinions of the expansion and I can hardly wait for it to be released. I am disapointed in 1 thign though........
Longevity
: TBC added 12 new zones, and 10 new levels, WOTLK added 11 zones and 10 new levels, but cata added only 5 zones and 5 levels and it showed. I had fun in WOTLK leveling from 70 to 80 and it took me nearly 2 weeks and a half, and still had several other zones on northrend to explore and quest on, fully completing every zone took me a full month.
Then along came cata, took me 2 days and a half to go from 80 to 85, and took me 1 week and a half to complete all 5 zones =(
too short.
I was expecting MoP to be longer, and have at least 8 zones, so the fact that it will have only 5 zones and 5 levels comes as a disapointment to me U_U I hope the next expansion can be of the larger scale WOTLK an TBC were, and feature 10 levels and at least 8 or 9 zones.
Other than this little bit, I'm actually 100% kosher with this new chapter in the history of wow.
