'course they are, only WE (the DKs) deserve to be at the top.
Those are the rulez.
Har har. Actually, they kept trying to do it but what ended up happening was there were 2 links to the Monk forums. Glad to see they finally resolved whatever problem there was.

So I have tanked a few raid bosses, and it went fine. Multiple melee adds hitting me no longer spelled instant death, and boss damage was manageable and roughly at the same levels as the Paladin off tank seemed to be getting. The only thing that I am lacking now is a solid UI that would track some stuff better. I know exactly how I am gonna set things up once I get Power Auras working properly.
I really love Tiger Palm Fist btw. It is not the most efficient ability to use, but it is great when you need to focus your brain power on something else, and want to generate some damage/threat/mitigation meanwhile (spamming TPF does increase your mitigation thanks to Guard).
The only thing I still lack is a proper Shield Wall. It is nice that I can reduce 20% damage and have a lot more hp, but there are occasions where I simply would prefer to reduce 50% damage.

Can anyone with some Monk experience give me some opinions on leveling as each specialization? I wrote a little article on specializations to choose for leveling, but since I didn't play that much Monk, I need more info.

Brewmaster is leveling like all of the other tank specs.
Windwalker level like Enhance Shamans.
Never touched Mists so no clue.

Three days after MoP release.
No RAF has been used. Just old school levelling.

So I've been messing around with Monk. One thing I find extremely annoying is Dizzying Haze keeps the targeting circle even after a single cast. I'd rather just hotkey it to something convenient and mash that key if I wanted to spam it...

Yes, Dizzying Haze is terrible.
I also do not like how monk tanks are stronger at AoE than at single target damage. Flame Breath >>> Blackout Kick and Tiger Palm Fist, Spinning Crane Kick >>> Jab, and the most powerful ability brewmonks have is Keg Smash which is a giant cleave. It is much more effective to round up 3+ enemies and AoE them than to beat them one by one. The only time I really go to kill a single mob is when my CD on Touch of Death ends.
Tanking Coren Direbrew at 89 with a Monk is not easy at all. It is the first boss where my Stagger hits red consistently, and I have to purify a lot. I should really gear up somewhat.
Also, all Pandaren Brewmasters should get this
Pandaren Brewpack
. It is bloody awesome.

Dizzying Haze still keeps its targetting circle? Ffs I thought that would get fixed on live >.<
Oh well, got 3 alts to level before starting on my monk anyways. Who knows, by that time ...

IS THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE ATM WITH MONK TANK- other than they are awesomly OP i have been tanking dung since lv 20 as heal spec/geard and ratio of 50/50 in % overall dmg taken me/tank LOL? hit lv 30 duo into tank spec and guess wat.. it does less damage in a way than heal--->It is much more effective to round up 3+ enemies and AoE them than to beat them one by one till u run out of stupid energy then realize u need to refresh prot spell or purify but cnt cos too busy spamming kegs >.< leeeerooooy

Learn to AoE better. The first time I died while AoEing mobs was in Pandaria, until then it was all fine. You have to learn your limits so you do not pull too much, and also manage your energy/chi. You can never be out of energy for too long.

Indeed. People are complaining about it on live now.
As for Dizzying Haze as an ability itself, I don't mind it's a usable ability. It's fun to troll 10 people in WSG with it.

with my point its just sarcasm at the fact as a monk tank u can just spam kegs and is win just watch your energy is the point- specially in renewal of prot spell or purify <-- which healers should use but not always do. practically solo like a dk

Wohoo, so I got Skinning, Leatherworking and Cooking up to 600 on my Monk. Now I'd like to focus on Fishing and Archaeology... *shoots self*. I actually love Fishing TBH, but when I am at a high skill level. It's nice to just go around and find a valuable pool and fish it up, and stuff. And fishing competitions are great fun too.
I also like how Crit rating is so good for Brewmaster Monks, that Skinning is not really a bad profession. Seriously, Skinning is my most favourite gathering profession of all. Getting an extra benefit from AoEing large packs of mobs (there are many benefits to AoE farming mobs. cooking ingredient farming, mote of harmony farming, fast questing) is awesome. :3 I also love how I can skin other people's killed animals. <3
Also, Monk healing is
fun

Hello Monks! I hope you'll forgive me being
on
topic for a moment but it's a very quick question about Monk Tanking.
I'm only 38 right now but I couldn't see, in the abilities I have or will get eventually, an increase to my Armor (like druids get). Is this just covered by the 25% reduced damage of Sturdy Ox or am I missing something?
