And perhaps my previous post was too hasty.
Anyone found a way to macro taunting one's Ox Statue? Maybe my macro-fu has become rusty with my time away from the game but nothing I try works.
I can click the thing and use Provoke. That works.
I can click it and make it my focus but a
/cast Provoke
does nothing
The macro:/target Black Ox Statue
/cast Provoke
/targetlasttarget...does nothing.
What am I missing? O.o

Literally copying from the game now, this macro:
/target Black Ox
/cast Provoke
/targetlasttarget
Works for me. I did encounter some issues though. /target Black Ox works fine. /cast Provoke works fine too. /targetlasttarget is where it went weird. When I started testing it yesterday, I think I had it written right right away, and it didn't work... so I fiddled a bit with how "targetlasttarget" was written by putting spaces into it and stuff, but then I tried removing the spaces and testing again, and then it worked perfectly.
So I went like: targetlasttarget (not working) -> target last target (not working) -> target lasttarget (not working) -> targetlasttarget (working)
...yeah. That is a great testing result, I am very proud of it (not, it sucks). I don't know why it didn't work for the first time. You say it doesn't work for you, and I know you didn't do a typo, and I didn't do a typo either (i didn't actually edit the spelling in the macro while editting it, just added spaces and then removed them).

Copy > Paste > worked.
No idea what I was missing but probably something silly and simple. I used to be good with macros >.<
Thanks for the help.
Got my Monk to 85 last night in 3 days played with two maxed professions. Now going to take things way easier and enjoy the new content. This Brewmaster's so much fun ^_^

Have you tried
/cast Provoke
?

/dismount
/cast Zen Cloud
And the winner of the most useful macro in the world iiiiiis meeeeeeee. Seriously though, it is pretty awesome to just fly to a quest area, pop this, complete quest in the cheesiest way possible, and then cast the normal flying mount and soar away.
Also note how seriously nothing is able to cancel your Zen Cloud. Golden Lotus daily where you have to bandage and you are being shot by catapults which knock you back? No problem, you get knocked back but you are still on your cloud. Flying guards in major cities of the enemy faction that would normally throw you down from your mount? Nope, not me.

Got max level last night on the Monk!
Now to get some gear >.<
It seems like they're really focussing hard on rep in this expansion which is a little disconcerting because that's not a big pull for me. Is there some reps I should concentrate on as a Brewmaster? Any I really need or can I just keep running dungeons and ignore it all?

Yeah, you can just ignore it and run heroics, LFR and stuff. However, I would recommend revered with
Golden Lotus
.
And to be honest, the Klaxxi have a really interesting storyline if you grind it all up to Exalted. Sure it's tiny bits of story with tons of daily quests inbetween, and you can basically avoid all the dailies by searching on Youtube, but I still like it.

I know the feeling. Daily quests have never been a big draw with me. Ever since doing Netherwing and Skyguard dailies I've just been pretty averse to long rep grinds through questing alone. They really needed to have another way to get rep with a faction other than dailies. The tabards were pretty fire and forget, but doing something for turn-ins or specific instances or... I dunno, ANYTHING other than dailies, and I'd have been cool with it.
On another topic... I levelled my monk to 45 in one long night and then kind of dropper her. I should really continue levelling her, quite fun.

Well, I noticed. It was bound to happen. You can now add people that whine about Zen Cloud being cancelled on top of the heap of whiners about Zen Cloud not flying at 310% speed. So annoying.

Ah, finally was able to make my monk...and still loving the class as much as I did in Beta.

I am soooooo looking forward to the new Monk ability in 5.2. Being able to shrug off a stun once in a while is much better than being unable to deal with stuns in any way.

I just wanted to vent about something that has been bugging me and is related to Monks. The goddamned Monk class hall. It has turned out to be quite a disappointment for me, for a fair amount of reasons ranging from actual issues to aesthetics which I personally have an issue with. I will list out what irks me.
Actual issues
(I have reported these to Blizzard in a ticket.)
The Monk class hall is the only class hall without unified General chat. To add insult to injury, the Monk order hall is fractured into an unusually high amount of General chats. There is a general chat for: the shrine with Lorewalker Cho, the temple, the small village under the temple, the inn in the village under the temple, the other tiny inn in the village under the temple. WHY. WHY IS THERE A SEPARATE GENERAL CHAT FOR A SMALL ROOM. Why can't Monks just talk to each other! This wouldn't be so bad if Monks hanged out in a single area most of the time, but a vast majority of monks are usually split 50:50 between the Temple and the Village.
The Monk class hall is also the only class hall without access to Trade chat. This one has an extra sting to it when you read the reasoning for why Blizzard decided to allow Trade chat in the class halls. You see all the nice words about how they thought it would just be good for the players, knowing you are the only class that doesn't actually get any of that.
Subjective visual issues I have
The Turtle feels like a large stepdown from the awesome monastery in Pandaria. All monasteries in Pandaria generally had some large yard-like area for training, which was a pretty cool looking thing in all of them... well, not the Turtle monastery. Our trainees are practicing their strikes in a little cranny behind the stairs.
All the class halls are equipped with a cool animated Artifact Forge which springs to life when you interact with it, often accompanied by some badass animation. The Rogue, Druid, Warrior and Demon Hunter artifact forges are among my favourites. Well the Monk forge not only doesn't do anything, it's just a re-used model of the head of the turtle statue. Yeah the Monk forge is just a turtle head that doesn't do anything. It has a pedestal on top of it, and that's all. Couldn't its eyes shine when we interact with it at least?
All the class halls are also equipped with badass MAPS where you pick your adventures on Draenor and assign missions to your champions. All of these maps usually try hard to convey the class fantasy of its particular class. The Rogue map is probably my most favourite, it has an extreme amount of accesories and small models attached to it, daggers, wanted posters, all sorts of crap.
This is the Monk map
. Our map is accesorized with a brush. Let's knock ourselves out.
Minor pet peeve
At level 110, you will spend a lot of time by checking your map for interesting World Quests. It is very helpful to be able to easily access the map of Broken Isles in order to do this. In the other class halls, you generally just open your map, and right click once to see the full map of the Broken Isles, ready for you to start picking your world quests. This doesn't work in the Monk order hall,
of course
. Right clicking does straight up nothing. You have to click on the red "WORLD" tab on top of the map screen, then pick Azeroth and then pick Broken Isles. That's three clunky clicks instead of one. Accidentally closed your map and want to check which world quest you wanted to go after again? More clicking.
All in all, my general feel of the Monk class hall is that while Blizzard has spent a lot of time crafting unique custom assets for the other halls, Monks just got plain re-used content, and on top of that it is put together very clunkily. Hopefully the communication issue will be fixed at some point after Legion's release, but I don't see a lot changing about the other ones.

I agree with your points dude, and have an extra one to add.
I truly and really failed to see the need to move the monks away from the Peak of Serenity. That place was PERFECT for a class hall. They could have updated it, added more things to it, but as it was, it was perfect. Nothing screams "monk" louder than a MONASTERY at the top of a mountain. The turtle feels like a drastic step down.
But it also makes you feel out of place if you're not a pandaren monk. The Wandering is (IMO) less related to monks as a whole, and more related to the playable pandaren, be then Tushui or Huoujin. As a result, non-pandaren monks feel like strangers in this place. And non-monk pandarens feel cheated out of being able to return to their starting zone.
I am glad to be allowed back into the turtle, as it is one of my favorite zones in the game. I just wish this had been done as a pandaren quest, rather than a monk class hall.
All in all, my general feel of the Monk class hall is that while Blizzard has spent a lot of time crafting unique custom assets for the other halls, Monks just got plain re-used content, and on top of that it is put together very clunkily.
As someone who mains a Death Knight, I feel your pain. While we lack the issue of the screwed up chat channels and lack of trade, we too feel like we got shafted when it comes to Class Halls. Blizzard spent so much time creating NEW unique and custom assets for other halls (Seriously, the druid one is GORGEOUS) but what do we get? the same place we've been using for years, with nary a thing changed.
There's some new drapes around the runeforges, a few tables with weapons on them here and there, and some NPCs have been shuffled about, but on the whole, The Ebon Hold is still 99% the exact same place its been for the past seven years. I was expecting that necropolis to be updated to the next tier at least. A new floor. Something at all. Instead, our class hall is the smallest in the game. Tiny, cramped, lacking details, flavor, class themes, and interactive crap.
=/
When I see the exquisite amount of detail on class halls like the one for paladins, druids, rogues, or warriors, then see the haphazard, patchwork job done on the Monk and DK and Shaman Class Halls, I can't help but frown.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Posting here just so I can say that there is a single forum page with my posts from 2012 and 2018 at once.
Looking at my last post here I seem to be complaining about the Monk order hall. They eventually fixed the Trade chat which was nice. I still think the forge and map are underwhelming compared to other classes. I never replied to you Rank because I actually like the Death Knight class hall quite a bit. I still think the vertical flying layout of the necropolis is neat.
