So I dinged level 90 with my monk, and aaaaaaw sheeeeiiit being 90 is awesome. I appreciated that I could just start doing heroics right away, probably because my item level was alright-ish from all the blue rewards I had. (but maybe it was because something was broken, hell everything in the beta is broken)
I levelled like this: 90% Jade Forest -> 100% Valley of the 4Winds -> 70%ish Krasarang Wilds -> 70% Kun Lai Summit. I have to say, all those zones are absolutely amazing. I love the new questing scheme to bits, where instead of one giant quest chain that leads you through the entire zone, you have a few separate smaller storylines that you can do in whichever order and without any prerequisites. Overall it was a very smooth and enjoyable questing experience.
Additional notes about quests:
The most boring quest ever was, surprisingly, the one where you ride a giant yeti and wreck Hozen. Seriously, that was so terrible.
There are poop quests
again
. What the hell. I bet there is this ONE guy on the quest design team that has some weird ass fetish and all the other guys are like, tolerating him and letting one or two poop quests through because that guy is the son of someone important. But deep inside we all know that if that guy ran the show, WoW would be all about poop quests, and the new class would not be Monk but Toiletmancer.
Shado-pan are fricking panda ninjas who flip out and kill Sha and they are bloody amazingu.
So here I am rolling around as a level 90 monk, spamming heroics as much as the lockouts let me (yeah that is broken too), getting phat ilvl 463 loots, and enjoying it. I always liked this phase the most, when you get into a new tier of end game, and you have many possibilities to improving yourself and you can kinda run around and squeal and gear up like crazy. Oh what am I doing I wanted to say my impressions of lvl 90 monk tanking.
Is fun! I still think the damage taken is crazy dumb about how it can spike, and there are a few mobs with very high melee attack power that can really
wreck
me (Monk boss in Scarlet Monastery? Bloody hell that guy is nuts. At least he drops his
entire loot table
every time he dies LOL I love you beta.)... oh and enemies that stun are crazy dangerous too. Especially the rogues in Mogu Shan Palace, during the second encounter. What a good demonstration of how low the monks passive dmg reduction is. I am having this weird feeling that as a Monk, you either get like no damage in a fight, and are super easy to heal, or you get wrecked hard, and there is no middle ground between the two extremes. It could use some polish. I got into a raiding guild and I am setting myself up for raiding, so I shall see how that goes.

So...newest build is out, the PVP items are in, and my Monk has 527k health gemmed and enchanted without any party/raid buffs...yeah Ox Stance is so not broken lol.

Same here. Sadly, the PvP gear is garbage for plate tanks so we will not be able to compare hps anytime soon.

Heh was funny yesterday, used Fort Brew, PVP Stam Trinket, stam flask, the 415 stam food and raid buffs; 814k health.

Which lvl 90 talent are you using? I run with the Jade Tornado thingy. I think Monk tank AoE is absolutely through the roof lol. I have seen that tornado critting for over 100k, and it also increases the damage of spinning crane kick by a ton. In comparison, Xuen is a total weakling and Chi Torpedo sucks.

I enjoy Chi Torpedo; but should probably pick a real talent heh.

two things.
A: Guys, is it true that spinning crane kick has been changed? its no longer a Chi-spender but rather a chi generator?
and
B: Adamsm, Thror, could you make me a favor and post something in the beta forums (US/EU that will give it a larger chance to be addressed)
This is what I want you to post.
A question regarding the voice of the DK pets.
Back in WOTLK our ghoul was able to talk, and even though it was the voice of a vendor, it was much better than the UGH NYA EERA he's been repeating ever since. They removed that voice in change of those crappy sounds and said that at some point in the future they'd add new voices to the ghoul.
Well, its been 2 expansions later and we're still waiting. If the locks could get new voices for their pets (Which only 1/3 of the locks will get anyways) why can't we DKs get an actual voice for our pet?

Yes, Spinning Crane Kick now generates Chi. And Rank, I am really not gonna post that.

and how much energy it costs? or its free with a CD?
. And Rank, I am really not gonna post that.
why not? =( Its just a question that I myself can't ask due to the permanent membership of the prestigious "No Beta Club"
I just wanna see if they address that, they did said they'd add new voices way back in WOTLK. Here we are, 2 expansions later and we're still waiting. If they could record all-new voices for the lock pets, one would think they could record new voices for our one and only pet too.

Completely serious; I love that spinning torpedo of fun...just wish it actually worked like it was suppose to.
And Crane Kick costs 40 energy; by the time you are done the kick, you'll have another 40 ready to go, so you can just pretty much spin endlessly.

This should be fixed. Crane Kick gives chi. Crane Kick doesn't require a target to be used. Crane Kick can be spammed with impunity.
See where I'm going with this? its gonna make it mandatorial before every arena match, or raid, or whatever, to spin till you have 4/5 chi and then start.
Crane Kick should only give Chi if it hits something. At least that's what I'd add to it to prevent its abuse.

Same deal as Expel Harm in all honesty Rank; you gain chi from using that spell whether it's a 'real' heal or not, or if you are in combat.

Difference is Expel Harm has a cooldown. So it would take you a full minute foolin' around with it to max your chi (75 seconds if you have the Ascension talent) So its not that exploitable, due to its non-spammable nature.
Crane kick however has no cooldown and can be safely spammed to max out chi.
Healers can do it too (hell, holy pallies can max out their holy power with Holy Shock pretty quick) but its not the same as a DPS doing it. I hope they fix that, Crane Kick should give chi only when harming stuff.
