Hm... out of abusing "VfD" the most bad ones were when voter disagree or hate comment, for those removal is reasonable.
But. I sure that there are some type of comment
most of the people really don't like to see or read. Those types:
1)"Lol, looted this uber-rare item from first kill."
2)"Took me 101 kills to get this item."
3)"I am on 9001 kills of this NPC and item don't drop!"
4)Info that already been posted above numerious times.
5)"Can be found at XX:YY" when there wowhead map showing exactly same location.
6)"Confirmed"
7)Some totally unrelated stuff.
8)"Soloed by XX level YY class ZZ race FF server NN time"(on obviously-easy mob, not some raid boss)
9)"Lol, I sold/bought it for XX gold on my server"
10)"Where to get this?"
11)"Drops from XX boss"
12)"Omg, I so want it!"
13)"Where to turn this quest at?"
Hm... nothing else comes up to mind atm, so let's run on those above:
1,2,3 - Those kill-counter comments always annoyed me, it's enought to have first poster say something like "This is 100%/very rare drop, everything else is matter of luck or player being in raid group"
4 - I have no idea people post comments with info, that already been said above, specially, when it's in first comment with 50+ green
5 - that is out-of-date post in terms of improving wowhead database abilites, yet people still keep posting it...
6 - upvote is the way to confirm, in worst case /reply, but why people have to post separate comment is beyond my understanding.
7 - could someone explain me what is
this?
8 - mobs that have reasonable hit points to be soloed by anyone really don't deserve that kind of spam comments. specially that goes for
mobs where people can't read
quest text on
how-to-kill.
9 - "This recipe/pet is very rare, except it to be sold high" / "This recipe/pet drops almost all the time, you may even vendor it to save the trouble" is just enough, no need to spam who-how-much sold/bought
10,11,13 - inability of checking , and other tabs really kills me.
12 - We feel happy for you and 9001 other users who have urge to post same comment.
So, the poison is spilled, what do we have then:
Out-of-date option that require 3 people before it goes to moderator is not enough.
We could use "Repeating already mentioned info" kind of report button.
But overall, I think public vote-to-delete report that will stay for 12-24 hours and will be declined if there be less than 10 "yes" or at least 2 "no" happen no matter of "yes" amounts would be best. However, 3k reputation for that is low, maybe 10k? 9k? 15k? Or just put restriction on having either of or .
P.S.: why main thread for this topic been locked with words "if you want to talk about it again - make new thread"? isn't it the way for spam? Would be better to keep all stuff in one topic, and if there reply limit - just make same name topic with "#2" and post a link to first topic.
