Elthalis face turned to the dwarf and then quickly turned back as she saw the dwarven eyes gazing to her pale and exposed body and the tiny amount of clothing on her. Her cheeks turned a brighter red.
"Thanks, Curator Malaghast, for the information..." She murmured, swalowing a bit of pride as she thanked the very man who is responsible for her lack of garments, for the moment.
"Curator Malaghast, May i deposit the forner uniform before the class, i would find having two
free
hands preferable." The elf asked after a moment.

"I agree," Josh said without a trace of irony. "But what is it for? That rotor makes me think it's for some sort of vehicle. Maybe a plane?"

"I suppose we still have time until Grintham here is done with the pushups. Very well, Elthalis, you have my leave. Though it should go without saying, for your sake I remind you: do not dally," Varathrien nodded graciously.
Character
: Siber Antares, Dietrich Eisenfaust
Location

"I hope that my lecture is not quite that boring," Eisenfaust allowed himself a small smile, demonstrating a keen hearing indeed.
"Though I suspect - nay, hope - that you are sensible young people and understand the dangers of magic, it is still crucial that you know exactly what are you going up against and why with each passing day, the world needs us more.
Tell me, have any of you heard of the Laws of Magic?"
Character
: Eryan Arnell, Joaquin Santiago
Location

"Promise not to punch me for taking delicious yet heavy food away from you for your own good?" Eryan snickered.

Octavian grinned, but answered, "I've heard a summary, but not the actual laws. Something about magic being corrupting, correct?"

Elthalis noded and turned on her heel and went back to her room. She opened the chest near her bed with the ring and deposited the raged attire. She then walked back with slow steps. No need for being hasty.
While in her wait she conjured up the stream to pass the time while waiting for the dwarf. Wondering the uses of the spell in her hands, she was far from using the cloak of flames, but something smaller might be possible.

"Exactly so.
Arcane magic. Flowing throughout our world, its core pierced by the innumerable ley lines much like blood is flowing through our bodies. Named our salvation by some, greatest danger and curse by others. For all that the scholars of days present and past have discovered about its nature, much still is left unknown.
Some would tell you that all arcane magic is intrinsically corrupting, that it warps the mind, body and soul of any who practices it. Others claim that the strong-willed ones are masters of their own fate and do not fall to temptation, whereas those weak of spirit should not be allowed to tamper with the fine arts in the first place. It is general consensus today that the truth is more complicated than that, though some tend to believe that the future generations may very well prove us wrong.
Undoubtedly, magic is power incarnate. It can turn a lowly, broken slave to a tyrannical sorcerous overlord, it can annihilate armies and bring ruin to lands - and it can stop the vast demonic hordes of the Burning Legion from adding Azeroth to its conquests. Of course, there is some bitter irony in this, but more on that later.
In and of itself, magic is first and foremost a tool; however, magic combined with the human, or elven, or dwarven factor, is something much more sinister. By our nature, we are flawed creatures, and magic allows abuses beyond the mortal scope. It happens slowly, and may not even come in full effect at all - and yet it is all but inevitable that even the humblest of practitioners will eventually put themselves above their kin deprived of that power. And why would they not? Quite literally, at their fingertips they have the capability to rearrange the fabric of our universe, they have glanced beyond the mortal sight and have seen wonders some languages do not even have the words for yet.
Throughout history, there is many an example of a civilization relying more and more on magic, the usage of the arcane growing at a fast rate until a disaster strikes. Yet, for all their acquired wisdom, even the magi of today secretly harbor the same conclusion - they know better. It will not happen to them."
Dietrich paused, allowing the information to sink in and giving the students an opportunity to ask for clarification.

"Surely you're jesting, Grintham. In my little finger I have the power to boil your blood and shatter your bones from the distance of four hundred yards. And until you have acquired that power,
after
proving yourself a mature, levelheaded, responsible enough person to handle it, you're nowhere near my equal.
True battle mages are the elite of this world, the first line of defense against the various cosmic horrors that threaten the existence as we know it, the people who write history and shape destiny. Do you want to become true battle mages, students?" Varathrien demanded.
Character
: Siber Antares, Dietrich Eisenfaust

"A certain stereotype is fairly widespread - wizards and sorcerers are celibate. The reason for that is the sheer pleasure derived from the usage of arcane. Every time they hurtle a fireball, a sweet jolt goes through their body, and the carnal ecstasy of a really potent ritual is not dissimilar to sexual intercourse. Some manage to cope with this and remain levelheaded, but there are many practitioners who fall prey to the addiction, drawing upon magic for its own sake until it drives them to darker sources of energy, namely the Fel taint of the Twisted Nether.
Demons of the Burning Legion are drawn to the arcane emanations of our world like flies are drawn to honey; they would be attracted even if no maleficars tampered with Fel in a foolish attempt to gain power never meant for mortals. Each time a mage becomes a warlock, from that day on they are a ticking time bomb that can explode at any given moment, opening a gateway to the monsters of the Nether. Even the so-called uncorrupted warlocks working under a license from Kirin Tor are prone to temptation, and thus are constantly watched for warning signs.
In essence, Fel is everything that is Arcane taken to much more extreme levels with the added factor of leaking harmful radiation to the environment. There is a comfort in it, that the same methods that would work against Arcanists gone rogue do wonders on the maleficarum."

Arthur shrugged as he grabbed the orb as well. The familiar moment of vertigo passed and he found himself on the floating tower, swaying slightly before he regained his feet. The youth coughed and straightened his tie.

"A 'sir, yes, sir' would have sufficed, Elthalis; you'd better learn to hold your tongue before I send you to clean latrines. I wouldn't need to ask something like that, had you demonstrated the right attitude. I mean, take a look at Raegar - I can practically taste the turmoil of emotions inside him, but at least he's got the dignity and moderation to face the hardships stoically and perform his tasks with due fervor," Varathrien admonished Elthalis.

Joaquin clamped his hand around the orb, and seconds later he was walking away nonchalantly from its twin.
"It never gets old," he guffawed self-confidently, then turned to see Tristan on his feet and not surrounded by half-processed breakfast. The bard raised his hand to slap the other boy on the shoulder encouragingly, but then decided against it and wound up showing Tristan a thumbs-up.
"No idea," Eryan shrugged, inching away to make place for the new arrivals.
