Giving people a 90?

I have to say this new xpac seems promising but I am so confused on why anyone should get a level 90 right out of the gate?
Does anyone else think this is a little insain? I mean for gods sake people won't have to level a new toon they would just be getting a 90 right away... you would have many many more young players and in exp tanks/heals...
I do think this is going to flood the realms with little kids. Be ready to deal with a lot of kiddies.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a restriction on it such as existed for Death Knights. Perhaps you will have to have levelled a character to 70 or 80 in order to get a free boost to 90.
At least I hope so. The thought of complete greenhorns running around with level 90s makes me shudder.

Tbh posts like this make me believe you are one yourself.
An if you read the Q&A, it said that their will be a learning part in the new starting zone, an that there is proving grounds.

I read that you can make a new char level 1 and it would be ok for the upgrade to 90. It did not speak of any reqs to get a 90.
A kick in the teeth to all of those people whom have worked hard to get to level 90. In my opinion

Except not.
Each account that Upgrades to Warlords of Draenor gets ONE chance to boost a single character to level 90.
ONE.
More than zero, less than two.
Q: How will the included level-90 character upgrade work?
In regions where players purchase World of Warcraft expansions, each World of Warcraft account that you upgrade to the Warlords of Draenor expansion will receive one level-90 character boost (to be used once the expansion releases). You don’t need to decide which character to boost immediately. You can also create a level-1 character from scratch and then use the upgrade on that if you wish. The boosted character will also receive a level-appropriate set of gear (along with some other assistance) to make sure you’re set for adventuring. We’ll have more details to share as development continues.
For regions where players do not purchase expansions (including China, Korea, and Taiwan), we’ll have more information to share on our plans in the future. In the meantime, our goal for all regions remains the same—to give players a way to get straight to the action in Draenor.
its no different than today's Recruit a friend or Scroll of Ressurection allowing you to bring someone to lvl 85. And its not gonna overflow the servers with bad players. This is the perfect tool for many applications.
A: you're a player that has retired for years and are now coming back and wish to get right to the newest content. Get a boost from wherever you left, to 90 and got to the new continent to level manuallly the last 10 levels.
B: You're like me, a player who's friends stopped playing altogether, and wishes to make a new character on a new server, this is your chance to do so without having to re-level again with no heirlooms.
C: You have this one class you've always wanted to try out, but don't have the time to level it, here's your chance.
D: And this is a biggie: You've always stuck to one faction exclusively (say, alliance, or horde) and wish to see the other side, but dont' want to invest real life money to faction change one of your characters, make a lvl 1 alt and boost it to 90.
Don't act like this is a horrible adition to the game, its limited to only one character per account, and its a gladly welcomed feature.
Now if only some of my alliance friends would use this to make a lvl 90 horde..............

Did you just try calling me a kid when you can't spell and?
The Q&A does not explain why you would give someone a 90 for no reason.
They say "People need to get to end game content and the such."
I say that is just a way to say people do not have to earn anything in WOW at all any more they just need to wait until the next expansion comes out to get a free level 90.
Everyone who has worked hard to do so is getting a small slap in the face.
It's funny how easy this game has become.
This is going to get more subscriptions. That is what I think this is all about.

For the second time, you only get ONE toon to boost to 90, and its not any different than the current Recruit-a-Friend and Scroll-of-Resurrection promotions that allow you to do the same already right now. Stop acting like a prima donna drama queen.

Hm, not so sure I get what you are saying here.
I see you have a few points on how this would be good but I don't agree with what you said about this flooding the servers with younger kids.
I do believe this will flood the servers with new kids who can make trying to level from 1 very hard for everyone wanting to q up and run 5 man dungeons.
This is a ploy to gain more subs. In my opinion. A good one at that.
Why do I feel like you are being aggressive toward me? Have I upset you in some way?

I am doing no such thing...
Seeing as you are one of the sites administration the way you are coming at me shows you have little knowledge of how to deal with people whom have different opinions then your own.
You are indeed being very insulting for no reason other then me disagreeing with the fact that people shouldn't be aloud to start the game with a level 90.
You say it's just one level 90... granted, but do you forget the fact that there will be 1000 90's whom know nothing about the class they are playing?
I believe it takes time to learn your toons strengths and weaknesses hence the idea of leveling from 1 and gaining the talents one by one. Not all together in one fowl swoop.
I do suggest learning people skills. It isn't right to call people names when you are in such a position.
Not a professional way to deal with someone. It reflects negatively upon the site itself.

By 'once per account' I wonder if it's once per license or per Battlenet account. Some of us (cough) have RaFd ourselves and have multiple licenses on the same account.
Edit: Actually, I think I've already found my answer "... each World of Warcraft account that you upgrade to the Warlords of Draenor expansion...". Their terminology is wrong. It must be once per license as we upgrade licenses, not Battlenet accounts.

Are you sure? You are calling a feature that is already in the game (right now, you can use a Scroll of Resurrection for a friend who wishes to come back and this friend will get a free boost on any character he or she chooses all the way from 1 to 85) a slap in the face.
That's a little overdramatic don't you think? This feature is actually quite old, the Scroll of Resurrection, along with the Recruit a Friend, and neither has impacted the game in a negative way, nor does it make your acomplishments feel less meaningful. You are making a big fuss over a small detail.
You say it's just one level 90... granted, but do you forget the fact that there will be 1000 90's whom know nothing about the class they are playing?
So? they will have ten levels to learn the ropes. Again, this is no different than the thousands of players who get an immediate boost to 85 thanks to the scroll of resurrection.
I believe it takes time to learn your toons strengths and weaknesses hence the idea of leveling from 1 and gaining the talents one by one. Not all together in one fowl swoop.
While I agree with you, again, I must reiterate to you that this is not anything new, they've been around for almost 2 years now, with the scroll of resurrection and the recruit-a-friend system. Furthermore, the new level cap is 100, not 90, you still have 10 levels to learn your class, its strengths and weaknesses, and as a final touch, now we have a tool we didn't before: Proving Grounds, which will provide the new barrier of entry for fivemans and LFR raids, and this tool is quite good at explaining how to use your class, and how to effectively tank or heal.
With all these tools at your disposal, as well as 10 levels to learn the ropes of your class, your wild claims that the servers will be overflooded with poor players are unfounded. Besides, EVERYONE needs to re-learn their classes from scratch at the start of most expansions. Most warlocks had to forget everything they knew about their rotation at the start of MoP and had only 5 levels to learn everything again. How is this any different?
Seeing as you are one of the sites administration the way you are coming at me shows you have little knowledge of how to deal with people whom have different opinions then your own.

Very well, allow me to sincerely apologize if I offended you. Having said that, I still believe you are overreacting to this, specially since this has been around for quite some time due to the aforementioned promotions of SoR and RaF.
Also I'm nowhere near close to the position of administrator of the site lol :P I'm just a humble localizer who translates stuff to spanish.

Treads of Edward the Odd
. Bad players will be bad players regardless of how they leveled their character. It's not like they get a free level cap toon, either. They have ten levels to learn how to play their class, with the vast majority of their skills available. No class in the game, by itself, can be called "hard"; if they can't learn their class in those ten levels, playing another 90 levels with a stripped down set of abilities won't help them.

actually kinda like this addition.
i intend too stick with my main into the next expac and level the few alts i got near 90 also, but then i can finally get either a warlock or death knight too 90 without having to go through the drag that is outland and northrend (which are so boring too level in, in my opion).
also the fact that you can only do this 1x is what makes it acceptable in my eyes. if it would be possible for every new character then i would be agianst it. but just 1x allows people too jump right into WoD without being forced too level a character up too 90 before it starts and losing most of your play gametime on leveling old stuff (though i stull highly recommend new players going through it all cause its tons of fun the first time and second, might be a bit dull 3rd if you do same stuff).
Yeah man I do agree that it's a welcomed addition to seasoned players.
If you have a level 90 I don't see why you shouldn't be able to make a free 90.
You don't think it's a little unfair that someone can start the x-pac and jump to 90 right away?
I also agree on new players going through all of it so they gain the know how and the lore.
When I leveled my first toon I was yelled at by my guild because I was leveling so slowly.
I was doing each and every quest from level 1 and up. I wanted to get the gist of the story.
It was very fun, I did however learn that I hated underwater areas very quickly.

Some people want to play with friends who already play, and some want the challenge of max level. There are two reason for giving them a 90. It isn't getting people to end game right away. It is only level 90 you still have to go 10 more levels to hit cap. So they will still have to earn it.
If I want to play with my friend through the new content, them getting to 90 right away is not going to be a slap in the face at all. If you think it is, then why are you playing a
MM
ORPG?
Plus it is only one toon.

Free 90 out of the gate when you buy WOD. Either one of your existing characters, or a brand new one if you want.

Hahaha, good item wrong class however. I can agree that there will always be bad players and yes they do play right now. Wouldn't it peev you just a bit more when there will be a bunch more of those around?
In all honesty I feel Qing for a dun and getting a tank that has Int on 4 of his items is upsetting. This free 90 will do just that in my opinion. Would you run with that tank or leave and try 5 minutes later again only to get the same situation with a dif tank.
Being a DPS that must be a horrible situation waiting all that time to get shafted because little johnny has a level 90. Just my opinion though.

I understand what you are saying and on some levels I agree but one toon isn't going to be the problem.
It's going to be a ton of other 90's as well. Qing for a dun and getting 2 tanks in a row that don't know how to use battle stances or try to tank in frost spec are a bit scary if you ask me.
"Hey tank, I am a mage and I have less INT then you... what gives? LMAO
Then again it is just my opinion. Maybe people like the thought of a frost DK tanking his way through a dun.

I have a feeling it's only going to unlock if you already have a level 90; just like how DK's do not unlock till you have a level 55.
