Character:
Irving Mortorus, Capricia Mortorus, R. B. Havoc
Location:
Grimmwald, Mortorus Castle
"Damn!" Irving howled from his control panel, the sound no longer drowned out by the furious whirring of machines and sparking of electricity. Like the last throes of a dying beast, the machine began to power down with a long, drawn out whorl. Cracking in its final works, the portal within the sky began to close, clouds returning to crowd out the gateway through worlds.
Irving did not bother to wait until the gates closed. He slammed a fist down upon the machine with a growl. There was nothing more he could do.
Turning with disgust from the engine, he leaned over the railing and glowered over those they had managed to find.
Havoc made a careless motion towards Irving. "Now he explains the situation."
"Grimmwald," Capricia informed the youth with a slight if somewhat sad smile. "Oh! Your bleeding. Here," reaching into a pocket she passed a snow white handkerchief to Xander.

"Never heard of it." Xander replied, taking the offer. "Thanks.. it's not much, really." He commented, but held the cloth to his nose none-the-less. "My days are rarely complete without breaking something."

Capricia giggled at that. The motion of doing so causing one of her discoloured eyes to pop out of its socket and clack against the stone floor.

Xander flinched backwards instinctively, stepping away to avoid kicking the lost eye. "You, uh, dropped something." He commented awkwardly, hoping it was just a fake as he kneeled down to grab the fallen organ.
Meline Varga
Grimmwald Plains, Forest Edge
There was the sound of cracking, tree branches splintering and threatening to fall. Meline glanced around as the rain began to clear, the storm moving away. Sight returned to her, and with it her battlefield.
Ground was ripped and torn; mud splashed around and stained with the blood of the Worgen she had been fighting before the battle. She cursed, noticing that she couldn't even tell if she had injured her attacker or not. And most notable, there was no sign of what she was fighting.
Meline though for a moment, looking upwards. Tree limbs bent downwards with weight, implying the escape route. Cringing, she considered giving chase. But she wasn't stupid, at least not enough to follow into the woods beyond Grimmwald's borders.
Especially with morning so close. Glaring into the darkness beyond, the woman turned; leaving the scene behind her.

Meyer went down on all fours with a barely suppressed snarl. He appeared to still be conscious, he thought, and the surface underneath felt more like stone than the inside of some behemoth's digestive tract. That he seemed to have hands and knees - bruised knees, in fact - to attest it was reassuring as well.
The warlock shook his head dizzily, slowly building up energy for a spell if such need arose. He carefully raised his head and looked around.

A gloved hand rose at once to Capricia's face. 'Oh Light! Oh, oh this is so embarrassing," she sputtered. Her scarred face was incapable of blushing, bu the speed she grabbed the glass eye attested to her humiliation. "Really, this happens way too often. I'm so sorry about that." She tried to laugh and disperse some of the awkwardness, but stopped at the light tinkling sound. She opened her palm and stared at the crushed glass eye.
"...Mmm...Oops..."

"Uh..." Xander stopped, unsure how to respond to the situation.
"Might... want a heavier one... to help it stay in?" He suggested awkwardly, trying to pass the situation away.

"I don't really like them anyway," she confided in a defeated tone, tilting her hand to pour the shattered fragments onto the floor. "They feel weird simply sitting in the socket. But I wanted to give a good first impression."

"Well, you know what they say." Xander stated, moving his feet away from the falling glass. "Best to just be yourself, right? Kinda?" He stopped and thought for a moment. "Unless this is the part you reveal we're all going to be horribly killed. In which case the act was a much more effective impression."

Capricia pressed a hand over her chest. "I promise neither I, Irving, or Havoc will kill you horribly ah..." she tilted her head, staring at the youth as though being able to discover his name written on a name tag on his chest.

Theresa Oakes
Mortorus Castle, Grimmwald
One moment Theresa spent sleeping - not very peacefully, but sleeping nonetheless - in a decent bed in Booty Bay. On this particular day she had had the occasional luxury of affording a room, and being only a little drunk she had enjoyed every minute and ever square inch of the soft (compared to the jettys and back-alleys) mattress.
The next moment she was suddenly lying on her belly on a not very soft surface, more akin to what she usually had, with a throbbing headache which also felt strangely familiar. She rolled over and pulled her knees towards her chin, going into a foetal position and shielding herself from the unpleasantries of the waking world.
Tiz Calvin
Mortorus Castle, Grimmwald
Just a second later, as if they had arrived in tandem, another female's feet hit the hard floor of the laboratory with a steel-against-wood-crash disproportional to the size of her frame. She held a steady position with sword and shield in hand; only being pulled from the heat of battle possibly could have produced such a state of readiness. Looking around in bewilderment she took in the surroundings, and with growing confusion she in turn pointed the tip of her blade to each of the figures surrounding her. They seemed oddly passive, though, as if she being suddenly translocated to that particular spot was no strange thing.
She found no other reasonable thing to do than to stand down, and lower the sword and shield she did only to notice there was yet another character in the room. A woman laid at her feet, arms covering the face. She seemed to be unconscious or something - why else would someone lie there on the floor?
"What's this?" Tiz asked loudly, hoping someone in the room was responsible for the event, and reasonable enough to respond to boot.

Smiling though it stretched the stitches about her mouth, Capricia made a slight curtsy to the youth. "Nice to meet you Xander. My name is Capricia Mortorus. The angry little guy over there is my brother, Irving. Sorry we have to meet under these sorts of circumstances," she said regretfully.
"Well now you're in the middle of this!" Irving retorted from his place atop the railing. As he spoke, the shuffling, misshapen figures who had been employed about the room drifted away from their stations and shuffled towards the youngest Mortorus.
"I am Irving Mortorus!" Sparks fell from one of the cables overhead to shower the ground behind him like a waterfall of light before swiftly cooling. "I am the one who brought you here to Grimmwald, a city torn from Azeroth itself and cast into the twisting nether. Surrounded by a forest where no one who enters returns alive, and shrouded by impenetrable clouds. In short, you are trapped here, just as we are."
"He rehearsed this for weeks," Capricia confided to Xander.

Eadric threw an illuminating bolt of holy energies that went flying through the air towards the wrathguard's back. A guard threw his body infront of Crilftah and shoved at the wrathguard with his shield.

"Grimmwald?" Wilhelm muttered. "That's rich."
He had heard rumors of the City That Vanished before - magical anomalies of that scale do not go unnoticed - but had always assumed the settlement had been destroyed, not hurtled through time-space matter into the Nether.
