LOL. With all the stuff going on about bots right now (the hacker variety), it's no surprise he read that wrong :)

If anyone has a spare key (US region), I'd like to give the game a try before buying.

See you in game.

I am putting Wildstar on ice until I get a better PC. The game is optimized as $%^&, it has no right to run on less than 20 fps on a machine that can run TERA and Guild Wars 2 on High settings with stable 50+ fps,
yet it somehow does
. Thayd is absolutely impossible to move around, I get like 5 fps, and very frequent 3+ second full stops. I would be a bit more tolerant to the Thayd lag if my server was packed with people, but Thayd is usually a complete ghost town on my server. Also it was 3-4 am the last few times I went into Thayd, so way past prime time.
Travelling by the flying taxi gets even longer stops, because it sometimes just lags when it has to load too much stuff I guess, and then the lag is lengthened because the taxi is still moving even during the lag and the game is trying to calculate the new scenery. So as a result I get a slideshow of images that shows me where I am travelling through in 10 second intervals, and once I land, the game takes its sweet time to recover from those lags and is ridiculously choppy for a while.
In the levelling zones my fps is usually in the 30s, so it is relatively playable, but I still get occasional full stops that always last for just enough time for me to die.
So yeah. When I think of all the games that look a million times better than Wildstar and that I can play on full detail on this PC (Skyrim and Wolfenstein, to name a few. I also can run Crysis 2, not on max, but it still looks quite beautiful.), this whole issue is just infuriating. Luckilly I am getting a huge PC upgrade soon, so my pre-paid 3 month sub is likely not even gonna run out before I start playing again. Still, I wish the devs would do a better job with optimizing the game.
(If anyone wanted to ask, yes, I use the most recent Nvidia drivers.)

It sounds like you might be using a dodgy nameplates addon (which doesn't necessarily rule out the Carbine nameplates addon ^_^).
Might be worth trying a good low profile nameplate addon (like
MinimalistPlates
which lets you turn off nameplates in cities) and see if it helps.
As for myself, attunement is intense!!
I've been fully attuned for a while now but helping the rest of my guild get attuned so we can actually start raiding. We've just got enough people now and have scheduled our first raid for next Monday. I'll be streaming the wipes for all to see ^_^
Now, if it sounds like we're slacking, there's only one guild on my server that has any raid bosses down and they only just got their second. Worldwide a few guilds have completed the 20person raid but none have taken down a boss in the 40person raid. This game really is hardcore. It's so much fun.

Nice, asakawa. Glad you're having fun with the Hardcore stuff. I'm having fun with the casual stuff, and have bought enough CREDD so that I'm good through Oct 31st now.

Did a gold medal run of Kel Voreth last night which was pretty fun.
The way the medals work in Wildstar dungeons is that the dungeons have optional quests to do while you're in there - this could be killing 10 specific mobs, doing a miniboss, collecting items, and so on. Doing all the optionals gives Bronze. Doing all optionals within a strict time limit gives Silver (this is required for raid attunement). Getting silver (optionals plus time limit) without anyone dying
and
doing extra challenges gives gold. The challenges are generally to do the boss fights without anyone getting hit by the specific mechanic in the fight.
In the videos below, the first challenge was the first boss to do it without any of us standing in traps (easy!), the second was to do the second boss without anyone standing in any red telegraphs, ever! The third was just to kill enough mobs while getting to the last boss and the last boss challenge was to not let any of the green orbs reach him.
So, anyway, for those interested here's my perspective of the run as a Medic Healer Click!
...and my friend's as Engineer Tank Click!
Starting raiding this Monday. Can't wait!(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Did you all see the latest Nexus report?
They are changing Attunement to only require Bronze, not Silver Dungeon runs. They are also going to make it easier to do the World Boss part.
Also, they are making great QOL improvements on Runes for gear.

It's a great time to be playing Wildstar.

Healer perspective (me healing the tank) on the first boss in GA:
Post by

Tank perspective of the Kuralak fight in GA. This fight is a bit like the Vampire boss in ICC. Eggs appear and must be interrupted but interrupting an egg means you'll be egged next time so it goes 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 - in a 20person raid you need to get the kill here or you die. The tricky bit is just how tight the space is in Phase 2, bearing in mind that you need all 8 eggs spaced because all interrupts in the game are AoE.

Hehe, the game has its issues for sure but the raid content is really very good fun.

Oh. I wanted to post a really long one in here but it got deleted and I didn't get back to it.
So Wildstar runs wonderfully on my new machine. I geared up my Engineer a bit more, learned the "top" DPS/Tanking builds and stuff, even starting to consistently hit number 1 in damage in Adventures.
The thing is though, I feel like rerolling to a different class. Engineer is alright, but I am not a huge fan of the Volatility shenanigans where you completely leave Volatility generators out of your build and only generate volatility through AMPs and abilities on a cooldown.
So I am levelling up my Stalker to be my main instead. I really enjoy slicing things up with claws. The stealth-on-demand feature is a polar opposite of the Engineer's gameplay with Bots randomly pulling anything you try to run by (in the means of running through an area that is dense with mobs without the intent to kill them). There even seem to be TWO popular build setups for the max level, which is a big difference from the Engineer.

I have a Stalker too that I tank with. Personally I don't find their DPS options all that interesting but don't let me put you off because we have lots (too many!) Stalkers in our guild and they all have a great time, doing admirable damage in raids. The tanking though is fantastic. Good snap and sustained threat, good group buffs, good survivability and self-heals.

Asakawa, I was kinda curious about one thing. Why did the ZAM network not do a database/community hub for Wildstar? I am not like, expecting you to speak for ZAM and give me a definite answer or anything, It's just something I am really baffled by and I'd like to hear your personal opinion. Is there a reason for why so many MMORPG's got a ZAM DB/hub before they were even released and Wildstar never did? I don't even think it's because of the "lack of popularity" of Wildstar, by which I mean... I think Wildstar had a way better advertising campaign than, say, Rift Online and there are way more people that would check a forum of Wildstar than there are people interested in Rift. Why does Rift get its website and Wildstar doesn't then? Maybe there is something to Rift that Wildstar doesn't have, but I don't really see it. Or is it really as simple as, there just isn't enough employees in ZAM who would care about running a Wildstar website? That would be a real bummer.

lol, you know bro', Asakawa and I actually briefly discussed that on the Staff Forums.
I was really weirded out that a game like Elder Scrolls Online would get its own ZAM database site, despite the game's future not looking all that good, but a game like Wildstar, which actually seems sustainable (particularly due to the C.R.E.D.D. system) did not.
Its strange, to say the least. Particularly after seeing ZAM database sites for games like SWTOR, Rift, GW2, DayZ (ta'hell?), Final Fantasy XI (Do people even PLAY that thing anymore?) and ESO.

I am pretty sure there was a ZAM Torchlight database too, but that seems to be deleted.
