Tried to upload my character information to wowhead, entered my wowhead ID - not ZAM or LoLKing - but the WoWHead ID like it states under settings>account settings>personal. Entered my wowhead ID and my password in the client, hit upload and the error comes up.
I changed my password in account settings>personal to make sure my password was right and tried again, still same error message.
Anything I'm doing wrong or is it just buggy?

When you log in with Battle.net to begin with, you have to use the Forgot Password feature on wowhead so you can enter a password. Then use that password in the client.

I have to admit, wowhead/zam has the most frustrating login/register systems I have ever seen. Took me ages to first register to wowhead few weeks ago because I had a lolking.net account (ZAM) and wowhead would not accept my email because of that, it would not let me register with battle.net either, nor did lolking had a clear 'forgot password' feature (nor does wowhead - the forgot password you're talking about, I cant find it at all - clicking on 'login with battlenet just takes you straight to blizzard battle.net login page, which has battlenet password (call this password3).
Also for reference for people who have same problem, google link:
https://www.wowhead.com/account
(log out from wowhead first)
Theres a different ID for wowhead/zam/battlenet, different password for zam/wowhead/battlenet...
I just fixed this by going to see what my saved passwords for wowhead.com were and apparently I have 2 of them. One is with my email/and lets called it password1, then second was wowheadID/password2. Wowhead setting (when logged in) only resets the password of wowheadID/password2.
Now wowhead client seems to accept wowheadID/password1... I dont even... The person behind the wowhead/zam network architecture needs to make user clarity a higher priority because it is so dam convoluted (which is a shame to say because getting data from wowhead is so quick and easy)..

Nah, it makes sense that the client only wants WowheadID/password1. Since that is what it's asking for.
For people who signed up using their battlenet account and after making their username will have to use the Forgot Password feature on wowhead so they can add a password to their account. Which will then work with the client.

Well yes of course, Wowhead has no power over your Battle.net password. But did you notice the
other
login button?
I find it weird that you don't set up a password for a Wowhead account created via Battle.net
when
creating it, but once you know you have to reset your "forgotten" password, it's not
that
hard to find...

Well, I did not make an account with battlenet because wowhead would not let me as I already had an account with Lolking (ZAM) 3 yrs prior. I did set up the password (which I found out after checking under my saved passwords with the firefox feature)- I had no idea that there were 2 different passwords for wowhead alone since, like I said, there were already 3 different sets of IDs/passwords when you register.
I dont like entering same passwords for every website and so when you click 'login with battlenet/zam' it automatically logs you in (I assume everyone does this)- so when there is only 1 option to change password when you are logged in in account settings, one would assume that that is the only password for wowhead.
And why does it make sense for the client to use password1 with ID? If they linked password1 to the ID then it would make sense (which according to the account settings is NOT the case as it shows that ID/password2 (password2 being the ZAM master password) is linked together - there isn't/wasn't any clarity that there is a second password, and it seems the only way to change that is when you are logged out of wowhead and do forgot password - which by the way you can only find the link via a google search).
Also, if you registered with battlenet then you shouldn't really be having so much of an issue (although like I said earlier, you would not be able to register to wowhead with battlenet if you are already registered with one of the other ZAM websites and those other ZAM websites dont have a clear 'forgot password' feature as well, so figures why there is so much complications).
Simple suggestion? Link wowheadID and password1 on user settings, so the user can change that password there and know its linked to wowhead. While having the option of resetting password2 (ZAM master password) below it.
When you guys registered with battlenet, did you end up making 2 different passwords (one for wowhead and one for ZAM) or just 1 (wowhead only)? Cause that would explain why there is not much of an issue with battlenet registered users (unless you just pick the same passwords for everything).

which I found out after checking under my saved passwords with the firefox feature
Well but that's not Wowhead's fault then.

Errr... what? You dont even need the wowhead password to login to wowhead so that doesn't make any sense at all. That password was created one time during registeration and is never used again (up until you need to use the client) since you can only login to wowhead with either battlenet or ZAM.
td;dr
for people having the issue and wanting quick fix: look in your saved passwords and use the password linked to the email, not wowheadID.
Or google 'wowhead reset password' and reset the password from there (I haven't tested this but someone up above said it works so...) you probably wont find the link on wowhead without questioning your sanity.

It sounded like you used a Firefox feature to skip Wowhead's login, never prompting you to enter the Wowhead password (there is only one, Wowhead and ZAM login are the same, unless you actually created two different accounts)

I logged in with the client yesterday, and had to dig through my password manager to find the password. Found it and logged in.
But this was a really old password, so I figured I'd change it while I was at it. Now I can no longer log in with the client with either my old or new password :(
Works just fine on the web, both with wowhead username and email address. Copy/pasting it in, just as I do in the client.

Think I found the cause of the issue for me. I had reset to a 100 character long password. wowhead.com and zam.com handles it just fine, but the client doesn't seem to work with so long passwords.
After several resets of the password I found that using a shorter one allows me to log in with the client.
