"You can leave that to me." Tharvulius answered.

Balrick nodded. "I will leave it to you," he told the mage. Turning Moriv, he guided the dreadsteed towards the smoking ruins of the hide tents.

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
Thirty-one pairs of eyes immediately fixed on Miter as he moved away from the column. Evlyn peered as curiously as anyone, holding her ground next to Sybil's sled and wishing she could see through the inquisitor's own eyes. Alas, she had to wait just like everyone else. The air was as still as the crusaders atop their mounts, their breaths and those of their horses steaming. A crow's hoarse cry had some of them, tense from the general stillness, twitching nervously in their saddles but overall nothing happened, which perhaps was the worst part.
The men grew restless, some exchanging looks while others kept their intense gaze on Miter, but they were members of the Scarlet Onslaught and if an inquisitor had told them to hold, they held.

Miter returned to the column, cradling the helmet like something precious in his hands. He gave it to Evlyn. "Old Lordaeron," he said then pulled himself into his saddle. "We're on the right track."

Tharvulius cupped his hands and furrowed his brow in concentration. A soft glow appeared between his hands and when he opened them a large glowing ember was there. Holding his open palm to his mouth the mage blew on the ember, causing it to break apart and fly away.
Each of the ember shards floated it's way towards one of the bodies and came to rest upon it's chest. Tharvulius spoke a single word and the embers ignited, setting the bodies alight.
Tharvulius slumped forward in his saddle, exhausting evident on his face. "May the flames carry them to their eternal rest." He managed to say.

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
Evlyn turned the helm over in her hands. She was no expert, but it looked mundane. Practical rather than fancy; protective, with few decorations. A soldier's helmet - a soldier who had followed his prince to the end of the world. It was no artifact, but she found herself holding her breath nonetheless as she viewed the dull metal. It had no trade value, except perhaps as a curiosity. Curiosity...
Turning her head, she saw the men closest to her craning their necks to catch a glimpse. 'Why not?' she thought, and handed the helmet to the closest crusader. He took it between his hands, looked into the empty eyes and passed it along.

Fired with a new sense of purpose Miter spurred his horse onward and down the steep ravine. Belatedly, those who had already examined the helm did likewise.

The tallest tent burned liberally. Dismounting once more, Balrick tossed aside the leather door in a hail of sparks. Smoke choked the inside. He felt not the heat or the roughness of he smoke in his lungs as he moved about. He was not in there long. A minute or two, and then he reappeared. Ash and grit fell like black snow from his armour as if he were slowly disintegrating. He mounted Moriv, and wrapped tight about one hand was a leather necklace decorated with beads and ending in a long hooked fang.
Turning about his dreadsteed, he looked over the field of burning bodies, the fire reflecting in his icy blue eyes. He gave Tharvulius a nod of acknowledgement for his work and his blue eyes swept the combatants.
"I ride to the Dragonblight," he said. "I have unfinished business with the Scarlet Crusade. Afterwards, I intend to war with the Scourge, and make them pay for this, and every other atrocity they've committed.
"This was a taste of this war. If you still wish to come with me, feel free," he said. He turned Moriv to the road and started off again.

"The scourge took much from me," Tharvulius replied, "and the Scarlets are fools who can't see past their zealotry." The mage nodded. "The scourge have awoken the fury I had contained beneath madness."
"My magic may not be what it once was, but I shall join you."

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
The red serpent moved on, stern faces keeping watch in all directions. Evlyn's horse practically rode itself, she found, and there was no one to talk to. Being on horseback she couldn't do much else, either. At one point she got dangerously close to try small talk with the inquisitor. She checked herself, of course, and instead began to reflect on the present company, which proved difficult when they were behind her and out of view.

The landscape rolled away and up, up, and to the highest peaks. They rode along a sheer black rock face made sleek and reflective with ice. A lone trail wound up the base of the mountains, and abrutply, Miter stopped.
He stared, silent, at the wide ledge ahead. It face the distant shape of an immense mountain, the ground before it level and choked by snow.
And there was a cave.
It cut into the black stone like a mouth opened in a scream. Ice grew jagged about it and the wind blew low and softly like a sigh through it. The Crusaders shifted at a nameless discomfort which filled the air.
Miter dismounted. The snow rolled away from his landing revealing black ice beneath his feet.

"There is not a part of this gods forsaken frozen soil I have found to like. Blue mage hating dragons and scourge." Ithalwen began, nodding towards the death knight. "My goals are the same as the start. To crystalsong. Whilst I could kill some undeads on my road to its crystal palace." The spellblade smirked a cunning grin and mounted up on her rented steed.

Balrick nodded. He hesitated, uncertain if he should say more. What more he could say. Eventually, he simple said, "I welcome you both, then." Moriv nickered at the pull of the reins as Balrick turned the horse towards the trail running back up the cliffs. Without hesitation the dreadsteed plodded away through the burning ghouls, the red flame contrasting with the blue of the horse's hooves as Moriv crushed any of the dead in his path, leaving a trail of blackened ash in his wake.

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
Evlyn climbed down from her horse. The ground was hard as stone. Slowly, the rest of the men and woman began dismounting, the beasts anxiously throwing with their heads.
She came up on Miter's side, staff in one hand. "Your orders, sir?" she wondered automatically, but her whole focus was taken up by the cave.

"Four to secure the area," Miter said, never looking from the dark maw of the cave, like a wound in the earth itself. "The rest, ready their arms. We are going on."
So saying he turned back to the sledge and began unfastening it from the horse.

Ithalwen followed after the knight. But taking a trail round the smoldering corpses as the horse wouldn't want to walk on fire, clever horse.
"So, what is it the scarlet crusade have done to you?" The spellblade asked curiously Balrick after riding up to him.

"I," Balrick said pointedly, "was a squire to the Silver Hand. I was no part of their scarlets. Blood soaked butchers. Red is the appropriate shade for them," the death knight said.

In the cold winds of northrend drifted a necropolis as silent as the grave. It's bottom stained with soot and on one of the pyramids edges grew blight-shrooms. Even with its worn appearance it was a ziggurat of horrors...
In the upper central chamber, remade into a throne room. Sat a lich in a bone chair.
Morginar.
Drifting in the vastness of northrends skies. Whilst minions of bone and decay cleaned and retrofitted the necropolis. He had faced humiliation of defeat once, but not again. He had his vengeance on that trifling elf.
