I was under the impression that once you had a lvl 55 or higher character on your account, you could create a death knight on an realm.
I installed my WoTLK today and apparently I was wrong. You need to have a lvl 55 or higher character on the server you are creating the death knight. Otherwise you are not allowed.
I had a 3 lvl 70s on my server. Since the queues were long and I was curious about the class, I went ot another server where I had lower level toons, but could not create the death knight and got a warning message.
Things change.
Originally, blizzard's plan was to allow deathknights to be created on any server once you unlocked them on one server. They will still do that in the future, probably in 2-3 months, but because of the number of peoplee creating deathknights right now, they didnt want low pop servers or new servers to be flooded by level 55's right off the bat, so they're restricting creation to your server only.
I was wondering where the best place to go from the starting zone is, for questing and leveling and such. I'm just kind of rattling around in UC and leveling my cooking, at the moment.
You should have hit level 58 by the time you finished the dk starting quest chain. From there, go to hellfire penninsula in outland.

Yeah i have a similar question,
I'm character transferring my Death Knight soon to another server with my guild, but my druid is staying. will my DK be deleted since my main is still in the old server?
No, your Death Knight basically fulfills its own requirements for having a Death Knight on a server. So it should be fine to transfer it. I transferred one earlier today from Blackhand to Galakrond and it worked.

What if i have a 55 alliance on say echo isle server, and i want to create a horde death knight on shadowmoon server... is that possible? or can i only make a death knight on any server as long as its alliance?
Only one DK per server on your account. Doesn't matter if you're Horde or Alliance, you only get one DK on that server.

Seeing that the DK's have blue armour at first, before Lich King's retreat to Wintergrasp, we started using green/blue armour like normal classes, do DK's achieve secondary gear in Northrend?
once you get to northrend you pick up quest plate gear just like the warriors and paladins, you dont get unique (deathknight-only) armor again until you hit level 80 and get either the dk pvp set or the dk raid set.

I know that STR modifies parry, and contributes to our AP. But, does anyone know the numbers on what STR modifies.
E.I.
1 STR = X AP
1 STR = X Parry
also, does STR effect anything else other than AP and Parry?
thx and nice thread Visas
